This addition-al bolt, triggered by the pivoted MS® bolt, expandsin a “scissors” action to center itself in its strike as itrises. This action saves the key holder from the diffi-culty of lining up the doors with three separatestrikes, even if doors are misaligned due to faultyinstallation or settling. Exit Indicator

Function:Provides unmistakable notification of an exit door’s “locked” or“open” condition. Under many local building safety codes, this allowsthe use, in certain occupancies, of a security deadlock instead of lesssecure panic devices. It includes a permanent adhesive header sign:“THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED DURING BUSI-NESS HOURS.” That wording is according to Uniform Buildingcode. Alternate sign available for NFPA and other local codes read:“THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN THEBUILDING IS OCCUPIED.”

Cylinder Guard

Function:The standard mortise cylinder is made of brass. It is literally a softspot in narrow stile door security. Using special pliers, a pipe wrenchor other leverage device, a burglar can tear the cylinder out of thedoor, leaving an opening through which he can operate the deadlock.Against this problem, the MS4043 cylinder guard offers a three-waydefense: First, the out shield ring is fully beveled to offer poor pur-chase for either prying or twisting. Second, this ring is hardened steelso that the combination of shape and hardness made it virtuallyimpossible to grip, even with sharpened tools. Third, in the event thata prying tool, such as a cold chisel, can be driven into the stile behindthe shielding ring, the would-be burglar is obliged to pull a heavysteel plate through a round hole in the 1/8" metal door stile. Thisdegree of leverage is far beyond that available with most hand tools.

Function:Designed to operate 4500, 4700 or 4900 Series latches by a naturaldownward hand movement. These handles incorporate an activatorcam disc that mounts on the handle escutcheon and fits solidly intothe cylinder hole of the latch. Not intended for use as a door pull.

Escutcheons:13/8" × 4", designed to match the narrow stile door’s clean lines. Steelmounted base is secured by hidden screws and has two large helicalcompression springs. (one becomes a “spare” once handling is given.)A 1/4" square heat-treated spindle is part of escutcheon assembly,which interlocks with the cam plug. Finished to match lever.

Function:A compact lock to fit within very narrow sliding door stiles withoutcompromising in any way the high degree of security these doorsneed. Lip Extension

Lip extensions are for centerhung doors,thick doors or other conditions that varyfrom the “standard” 13/4" thick door thatcloses flush (or near flush) with the jambface. Specified with electric strike by thelast dash number which varies the doorcenterline to jamb edge dimension in 1/8"increments. For existing 7100 Seriesstrikes, a thin metal membrane in thestandard lip can be drilled or punched outand the lip extension can be added in thefield. (Dash number for lip extension isthe same as door centerline to jamb edgedash number on complete strike).

3080 Series Entry trimThe 3080 series provides outside activation ofnarrow stile aluminum, wood or hollow metaldoors that have any type of Adams Rite exitdevice. Breakaway clutching mechanism pro-tects the locked handle from vandalism orforced entry, in either direction. This alsomakes the trim rehandable in the field. Allmodels share the same core components, sohandles can be changed without having toreplace the entire trim. Solid constructionmeets Grade 1 standards. An electrified versionis also available for integrating with card read-ers, keypads and other access control devices.

A switch in the exit device pushbar mountedon the hinge end. Switch can be used o activatesignal light, horn, monitor or other devices.Most common application is to releasemaglock when pushbar is depressed. Switchcan be wired for normally open or normallyclosed depending upon application. Can beretrofit in field to existing exit device. Dual

Electric Latch RetractionLR Option

The LR option uses a solenoidmounted in pushbar forinstantaneous unlocking andlocking of the exit device froma remote location or accesscontrol device. Because electri-

cal operation of device is fail-secure, this option can be used on fire-treated as well as life-safety applications.

In the event of a power failure, device automatically relatches.

Requires the use of PS-LR Power supply, which will power two exitdevices. (Using an alternate to the PS-LR Power Supply will voidwarranty).
