In Memoriam Keith Youth September Activities

Come join us on September 4, as we kick off another great

year! We will be celebrating with a Family First Worship

Service in the Whole Life Center at 6:00 p.m. Bring the

whole family, and let us fellowship and worship together!

Keith Children’s Academy

Keith Children’s Academy is currently

accepting applications for Fall Preschool

and Parent’s Day Out. Please call

Tracey at 745-2612 for more

information!

Greetings Keith Family!

With Labor Day upon us and school in full swing, church

programming makes a shift as well. Keith’s Children’s Academy

is again underway and the sounds of children ring in those

rooms. The Youth had their big Kick Off event which was a huge

success and our TWC students are back in town. This is an

exciting time of the year in the life of the church.

Many people have been wondering what kind of study I would be

offering and I have had a difficult time determining what it would

be as I have so many great ones to choose from. Finally, I have

decided that I will offer a noonday Bible Study on Wednesdays

and we will meet in Ensminger Hall.

Have you ever wondered how much richer the Bible would read if

you were more informed as to the history, geography and culture

of the Bible? Well, come join us in this Bible study as renowned

teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan guides us through the land

of the Bible while teaching the historical, geographical and cultural

context of the sacred Scriptures. Filmed on location in the Middle

East, the Faith Lessons DVD series will absolutely transform your

understanding of God and challenge you to a deeper relationship

with Jesus. During each session we will focus on a passage of

Scripture explored in a 15-20 minute DVD presentation. We will

then venture deeper into the study as we entertain questions and

more related passages.

Our topic schedule will be as follows:

Sept. 4 Tel Gezer- “Standing at the Crossroads”

Various Scriptures

What is the significance of the geographical location of

the Promised Land?

Sept. 11 Jordan River– “Wet Feet”

Joshua 3:5-17

Barriers, commitment, life are among the topics to be

entertained.

Sept. 18 Tel Jericho- “First Fruits”

Joshua 2 and 6

Jericho’s strategic location and the principle of first fruits.

Sept. 25 Tel Beth Shemesh –“Confronting Evil”

Scripture from 1 Samuel , Judges and Numbers.

Learn about the Philistines, the Shephela, the Nazarite

Samson and more.

Each of these lessons will have a personal application to challenge

each participant in our daily walk with Christ.

I invite you to pack your Bible and a lunch, and we will nourish

both soul and body as we feast on Faith Lessons in the Promised

Land.

In Christ’s Service,

Pastor Ty

KEYS KEYS KEYS

The Trustees are requesting all building keys be turned in and

re-issued. If you have a key to the building, please come by the

office and turn in your current key. A new key will be issued to

you. If you have any questions, please call the church office.

A History of Keith Church

A booklet is being written entitles The History of Keith

Church, 1947-2013. If you have someone or something you

would like included, please contact Sally Ealy (745-1954).

Or better yet, submit something in writing to the history

committee! Submissions may deal with the past or the

present. We look forward to hearing your Keith stories.

Thank you for your contribution to this project!

Nourish One Child

The Nourish One Child weekend ministry needs your used

plastic grocery bags! Please put them in the labeled box by the

Nourish One Child Food Pantry, which is located across the hall

from the upstairs Chapel. Nourish One Child is also seeking

families, youth, Sunday School classes, Circles, friends, or small

groups to pack food bags. Packing takes place in the NOC Food

Pantry on Wednesday evenings and takes less than an hour to

complete.

Many children in Athens City Schools rely on this important

weekend nourishment. Your help with this ministry is vital! To

volunteer, please call Anne Catron (744-0795) to sign up.

Coordinated Charities Food Drive

Coordinated Charities is having a food drive, and Keith has

been asked to provide canned carrots. At this food drive,

no family will be turned away for food. There will be bins

outside the Gathering and also in Donut Church for your

contributions. Bring your carrots and be a part of this great

event!

KEITH YOUTH IN MISSION RECAP

As the season of summer officially closes this month, we celebrate ways God

has used our youth group over the summer. We took eight middle schoolers to

Augusta, GA for an “introductory mission experience,” working on landscap-

ing, outdoor building repair and house-painting for elderly and impoverished

residents. For the high schoolers we traveled to Far Rockaway, N.Y. to assist

with an inner-city Bible-school, local damage from Hurricane Sandy, cleaning

debris from a soon-to-be teen center, and clothing/food distribution, etc. Even

in our Assembly camp-week at TWC, we were able to help pack over 5,000 lbs.

of storable food for STOP HUNGER NOW. In all of our opportunities, we

were privileged to work alongside youth from many other churches, making

some great friendships and truly learning to be the body of Christ!

New Bible Study

Have you ever wondered how you know when God is speaking to

you? Would you like to experience God doing through you what

only He can do? Well, you can. Come and join me as we study

Experiencing God, Knowing and Doing the Will of God.

Beginning, on September 8, we will meet on Sunday afternoons

from 3:00-5:00 p.m.. Those who choose to participate will be

expected to attend all 12 sessions. During the 12 weeks, you will

participate in reading your lesson on daily basis and complete the

assignment in the workbook. We will come together to dive

deeper into God’s Word and discuss what we have learned.

The cost of the study is $15/person. Please register with the church

office. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Ty.
