Every day is like a new adventure abroad
Participants become "villagers" and live in the language and culture from the moment they wake up to the close of the day.

it's current hits by Robyn or classics by ABBA. Sweden is a
leader in music production, caring for the
environment and modern design, but
whatever your reason for wanting to
learn Swedish, there is something

Swedish activities mixed with
summer camp favorites like
camping, canoeing, swimming
and tons of care and attention
from knowledgeable staff will

Why Learn Swedish?Swedish is the official language
in Sweden, and is also spoken
in the Åland Islands, Finland,
Estonia, and the United States.
It has over 10 million speakers
worldwide. Knowing Swedish
helps you connect with Swedes
living around the world, as well as the speakers of Norwegian
and Danish.
Life at SjölundenAt Sjölunden you'll learn words, phrases, and the history and traditions of Swedish-speaking people as you immerse yourself in a fun, culturally authentic learning environment. Our counselors use gestures, repetition, songs, and games to make sure you know what to do from the moment you arrive.

Camp Activities Can Include:
Fantastic Swedish Food
Traditional Swedish food is typically hearty and tends to vary according to each region. Köttbullar (meatballs), fikabröd (sweet breads), ärtsoppa och pannkakor (pea soup and pancakes), and lussekatter (Lucia buns) are a few examples of what you might eat at the Swedish Language Village.
Special Programs
You'll be busy all day long at the Swedish Language Village.
Why not join our seglingsskola (sailing school) or try your hand
at vävning (weaving) or learning the guitar? Celebrate Swedish
traditions such as midsommar (midsummer) and Sankta Lucia (St.
Lucia day).
