SWAZILAND NAZARENE COMMUNITY HEALTH
CLINICS
Overview
The Nazarene Community Health Clinics started
in1943 at Mliba Nazarene Clinic. This service cameas an emergency service to rescue the lives in Mliba
due to the malaria epidemic of that time. Community
members were actively involved in the construction
of the clinic, using stones available in the area.
Today, Swazilland Nazarene Community Clinics has
eighteen (18) clinics operating in the four regions of
the country and serves an aggregate population of
300,000 within the catchment areas. There are five
Clinics in the Manzini region; Mliba, Mafutseni,
Bhekinkhosi, Bulunga and Ngculwini. Five in the
Lubombo region; Shewula, Siteki, Manyeveni,
Sigcaweni and Sitsatsaweni. Six in the Hhohho
region; Pigg’s Peak, Mshingishingini, Ndzingeni,
Malandzela, Bhalekane and Ndvwabangeni; and one
in the Shiselweni region; Phunga and Mgazini.
The clinics were administered under the Raleigh Fitkin
Memorial Hospital until 1994, after which time they
became an institution under the Swaziland Nazarene
Health Institutions. By 1994 there were 13 clinics
operating, and since then four additional clinics have
been built. Each is headed by a state registered nurse.

Nazarene Community Clinics seeks to offer high quality
Services and improve the health status of the individual
Client, family in the community. This will be achieved
Through utilization of the primary health care approach.
Services will be affordable, accessible, equitable and
Socially acceptable.
Vision
The Nazarene Community Clinics will be the best
model providing high quality preventive, promote,
curative community health care services.
