Brands of the day Day

SWAG!!!

We at Crooks & Castles have always routed for the villain whether it be in a movie, a comic book, a novel, a rap song or every- day life. Growing up in Los Angeles during the 80’s and 90’s we became a part of this villainous lifestyle. Gangs were everywhere-the hood, the city, even middle suburbia. Most had no choice but to adapt to the environment. Some were able to escape or even channel what they’ve learned on the street into something lu-crative. What caught our attention in the mid 90’s was independent fashion/graphic brands.

Those who stopped at noth-ing to get their “Castle”. We too hope one day to be the next rich crook.

After years of learn-ing the in’s and out’s of the business by starting a brand without knowledge of how to start or run a clothing company, we’ve finally come to this…”Crooks & Cas-tles”! The concept was easy. “Crooks”, criminals, pimps, hustlers, thieves, etc. And “Castles” those who got rich by becoming a crook. From the robber barons of the early times like the Vanderbilts, the Rockerfellers, the Carnegies, to the modern day billion-aires-Bill Gates & Microsoft.

In some of our designs you might see a familiar icon or logo that we took (stole) and gave it our own twist. We felt that some high fash-ion brands only catered to someone in a certain lifestyle or with a rather large bank account. Therefore, we took what they made and crafted it to fit ours. In all honesty…Who cares. We just really wanted to make some…hot shit! We thank you for sup-porting Crooks & Castles. Please keep supporting the Crooks and we’ll keep serv-ing up some hot shit!!

Mishka NYC conjures images of chainsaw wielding teddy bears and robotic horror imagery. Some say the label was the product of a heavy metal Satanic ritual gone horribly right. Their latest line is based on the works of famous Brooklyn based custom tattoo artist, JK5 who has worked with names across the board from Tylenol to Toy Tokyo. We love Mish-ka because they are so incredibly diverse and you can tell from the helter-skeltered mixtapes that end up in their online Doombox that they are true heads for all that is beyond the main-stream.

The Hundreds apparel is inspired by LOS ANGELES LIFESTYLE / CALIFORNIA CULTURE and Southern California’s skateboarding, surf, punk, and hip-hop cultures. The design is reminiscent of 1980s surf-culture t-shirts, independent skateboard company apparel of the 1990s, and the advent of “streetwear” at the end of the millennium. The line is com-prised of graphic t-shirts, denim, wovens, fleece, outerwear, headwear, and accessories. In late 2008, The Hundreds also launched a shoe program monikored The Hundreds Footware. And in 2009, The Hundreds’ optical program, The Hundreds Eyeware, debuted to the public.
