biel of Champaign were married Nov. 23, 2013, in a ceremony at the First Mennonite Church in Urbana. Pastor Janet Rasmussen officiated.

Parents of the couple are Michele and Bill Van Buren III of Morri-son and June and Perry Krehbiel of Moundridge, Kan.

Grandparents attending were Ann Van Buren of Morrison and Verne Langley of Sterling. White roses hon-ored the couple's late grandparents, Dale and Bertha Galle, Merlin "Jim" and Ruby Krehbiel, Lois Langley, and Bill Van Buren Jr.

The matron of honor was Tammy Eisenberg of Belleville. Attendants were the bride's sisters, Erika and Autumn Van Buren, both of Morri-son.

Serving as best man was David Stucky of Newton, Kan. The grooms-men were Johann Reimer of Okla-homa City and Ky Krehbiel of Derby, Kan., cousin of the groom.

The groom's sister and brother-in-law, Melanie Krehbiel and Jason Mill-er of Newton, Kan., read Scripture.

The bride graduated from Morrison High School and Greenville College with a bachelor's degree in psycholo-gy. In 2011, she completed her Master of Social Work degree at the Univer-sity of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She works as an outpatient therapist at the Piatt County Mental Health Center in Monticello.

The groom is a 2002 graduate of Moundridge High School and a 2006 graduate of Bethel College in North Newton, Kan., where he majored in mathematics and physics. He com-pleted a master's degree and is work-ing on a Ph.D. in mechanical sciences and engineering at the University of Illinois.

A wedding dinner was held at CityView in Champaign.

The couple honeymooned in New Orleans and make their home in Champaign.

Ragusa exchanged wedding vows at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 14, 2013, at the historic Packard Plaza in Peoria. John Martinson, friend of the cou-ple, officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Art and Jackie Schmidt of Dixon. She is the granddaughter of Rob-ert and Ida Schmidt of Harmon and the late Robert and Cleora “Gubby” Walters.

The groom is the son of Christo-pher Ragusa of Peoria and Denise Burt of Streator. He is the grand-son of the late George and Eileen Mahrt and the late Joseph and Jean “Oma” Ragusa.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Serving as maid of honor was Kayla Bellows, sister of the bride.

The bridesmaids were Lauren Rinne and Courtney McWethy, friends of the bride, and Ashley Ragusa, sister of the groom.

Serving as best man was Matt Barrick, friend of the groom.

The groomsmen were Mike

Sanders and Matt Walker, friends of the groom, and Kevin Schmidt, cousin of the bride.

Ushers were CJ Range and Timmy Davis, friends of the couple.

The ring bearer was Bradley Schmidt, nephew and godson of the bride.

The flower girl was Alayna Wash-kowiak, cousin of the groom.

A reception followed the cer-emony. The couple's first dance was sung by Kayla Bellows.

The bride is a graduate of South-ern Illinois University and the Doctorate of Audiology Program at Northwestern University in Evanston. She is an audiologist at Midwest Hearing Center in Mor-ton.

The groom is a graduate of the Master of Science in Educa-tion Program at Southern Illinois University. He is an information security analyst for State Farm in Bloomington.

The couple honeymooned in Negril, Jamaica.

They reside in Normal.

Capt. Sebastian S. Lemus

Military Service

Capt. Sebastian S. Lemus of Sterling is the son of Gonzalo and Lusi Lemus. He attended Sterling Schools and graduated from SHS Class of 2000.

He went on to Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, where he joined ROTC. The day he gradu-ated from NIU in May 2005, he received his commission from the Army as a second lieutenant.

After training, he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, in the 1st Cavalry Division. From there he was deployed to Iraq for 15 months, returning as a first lieu-tenant and a communication specialist.

After finishing his tour, he joined the Illinois National Guard and was promoted to captain. He now is with the Texas National Guard, which is where he and his wife live. He now is a police officer in Arlington, Texas.

His parents are proud of all his accomplishments. Carol Reyes
