Undersized electrical service: Seaboard: New transformer vault cost was prohibitive so

hydronic heat and air-side economizer was utilizedthroughout this Residential, Office, and Retail Project.

PPM: Successfully negotiated new transformer at lowercost in an existing right of way in lieu of undergroundbeneath First Ave saving major expense and tenantrelocations. Businesses able to remain open.

Maintaining the aesthetic and character ofhistoric buildings while incorporating energy-

saving measures PPM: No closure is allowed. Occupancy and

operations to be undisturbed.

Codes: Change of use to residential requires fullenergy code compliance. Many projects strugglewith the cost of replacing all the single paneglazing in this scenario. (Smith Tower)

Negotiated Alternative Compliance Pathway

Total outdoor airflow provides 50% airside economizer 2006 SEC has no efficiency standard for water to water

heat pumps. EERs and COPs will be a minumum of 25%better than an alternative efficiency standard (ISOStandard 13256-2)

High efficiency gas boilers are provided Heat recovery from large water cooled refrigeration

systems utilizing water to water heat pumps.

Results show the proposed approach consumesapproximately
