1. COP 21, the UN 21ST conference on Climate

change, that negotiated the Paris Agreement,

offered the opportunity for EFCA-FIDIC

to launch the statement in support of COP21 (position on

climate change), adopted by the FIDIC EC and endorsed

by the EFCA BoD

to present, jointly with UNEP, the ongoing work on the ABC

for Sustainable Cities

The Urban Agenda for the EU:

European cities get their say in EU policy making

• On May 30th the Commission endorsed the 'Pact of

Amsterdam‘, which establishes the Urban Agenda for the

EU and lays out its key principles

• At the heart of it: the development of 12 partnerships on

12 identified urban challenges that will involve… NGOs

and business partners

• That will focus on

– a more effective and coherent implementation of existing EU policies

in cities in the fields of, for example, environment, transport …

– easing access to EU funding, promoting combinations of EU funds

and…
