Business and Nature are not mutually exclusive concepts. They are realities that must do more than coexist; they should thrive in the company of one another. That’s an idea we believe in. And an ideal we pursue each day in all we do.

Energy Policy40% Reduction on a BTU/Lb Basis (2006 to Present)

DAK Americas will seek to continuously improve energy efficiency, and decrease environmental emissions from fuels used to power its facilities.

• We will strive to improve our energy efficiency, on a BTU/ pound of product basis.

• We will seek energy sources and alternatives that will reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

• We will design facilities and processes to maximize value and energy efficiency.

• We will give preference to renewable energy sources, when economically feasible.

No Landfill Policy » Began 2009/Goal Completion 2015

» 96% Reduction Regular Waste Streams

» 90% Reduction All Waste Streams

DAK Americas will strive to eliminate regular industrial waste and special waste sent to landfill from its operating facilities.

• We will reduce production of waste at the source.

• We will strive to reuse, recycle, compost, and convert to energy all regular industrial waste from our operating manufacturing facilities.

• We will strive to eliminate special waste streams (production waste with no reasonable economical alternative to landfilling) and persistently seek alternatives to landfilling them.

• We will use reasonable means to find recycling outlets for office facility waste.

DAK Americas places special emphasis on Energy and No Landfill Initiatives.

CommunityDAK Americas will make a positive impact on the communities in which it operates and interacts.

EnvironmentDAK Americas will strive to operate its facilities in a manner that minimizes its environmental impact.

Employees DAK Americas will encourage its employees to achieve their full potential by establishing people systems that support long term value creation, in a safe and sustainable workplace.

MarketplaceDAK Americas will be responsive to customer needs and meet customer demands for more sustainable solutions.
