Why Us?

There are 3.2 million people in the UK in higher education with a combined spending power of £15.5 billion.

The Students’ Union is made up of all the students at Sussex University and Brighton and Sussex Medical School. Last year we had over 14,000 students and over the course of the next few years this will increase to over 18,000 students.

What Can We Offer You?

The Freshers Fair

The Freshers Fair is our main commercial event of the year for students, old and new.

This is the perfect opportunity to engage with students when they are enthusiastically forming new relationships with brands. It’s a time when students are willing to try new things and are deciding which brands to use and trust for the first time.

This gives you the chance to exhibit, demonstrate and promote your products and services to thousands of students.

Freshers Wall Planner

Wallplanners will be given out to all new students in their goody bags when they arrive. This is a great chance to get your advert seen by 5000 Freshers and advertise your event.


Freshers Postcard

This year we’re sending out a postcard to all UK students’ home addresses, welcoming them to the Union. This is a perfect opportunity to contact students and their parents directly, setting a trend even before they arrive.

The Freshers Badger

As the only official Students’ Union newspaper, the Badger is the real voice of the students, written for students by students. The Freshers edition is distributed directly into the homes of 5000 Freshers’ as part of their welcome goody bags!

Sunday Welcome Party

This event is the first and biggest event of Freshers Week. The night takes on the style of festival with various walk-round entertainment and a big top tent bursting with entertainment and music. 2000 students attending this event makes it the perfect chance to appeal to this market.

The Refreshers Fair

It’s time for Freshers’ round 2! In January we run another fair to give students another chance to meet brands, businesses and societies they may have missed first time around, now that they have settled in.

Flyer and Product Distribution

Distributing flyers, vouchers, posters, promotional items or samples is one of the best ways to directly contact students.We have an excellent promotions team to distribute materials on your behalf, in the hubs of social activity.

Stalls on Site

On site promotional stalls are the ideal opportunity to talk to students face-to-face. Prime locations are available to be used in many ways, from sampling, to demos, competitions and flyering.
