The portion of the property tax devot-ed to local technical colleges will declinethis year due to a bill approved by theLegislature in the spring.
During the Sussex Village Board meet-ing Aug. 26, Village Administrator JeremySmith said the overall property tax bill forresidents will drop because the portion fortechnical colleges are falling largely offthe tax rolls.
When asked by Village President GregGoetz, Smith said the decrease about 90cents off the village mil rate.
Shelly Kuhn, director of public rela-tions for Waukesha County TechnicalCollege (WCTC), explained that thisspring the Legislature removed approxi-mately $406 million from the portion ofthe property tax levy devoted to technicalcolleges and replaced with property tax
relief funds from the state to all of the 16technical colleges, effective with the taxbills going out in December. She said thechange will be a reduction of $0.89 milper $1,000 of valuation for operationallevy for each technical college.
For Waukesha County TechnicalCollege, that will reduce its portion of thetax levy by approximately two thirds (morethan $42 million) and will leave less than
$20 million to be billed to locapalities in October.
According to information froWCTC billed taxpayers $62,431last year. As a result of the chanpayers in Waukesha County will ban estimated $19,910,325 this f

PET OF THE WEEKDreamboat has come a long way over the last few months here at WCHS.
She is a star student, gives excellent eye contact during training, and haslearned quite a few tricks! She now knows come, sit, down, easy, off, give kisses, leave it,and wait.Dreamboat has gained alot of restraint andpatience. Can you believe we can set a treat on her paw, give her theleave it and wait commands and she won't touch it or move until we say"ok"! What a good girl!!! Searching for a dreamer to sail away into the sunset with? Look no furtherthan our sweet Dreamboat! Dreamboat came into WCHS as a stray.Sh e is Miss Confident and settledin right away. She has been full of happy wiggles and slobbery kisses from day one! Dreamboat is anactive, young girl still full of puppy energy & antics.WCHS is looking for her new home to have children12 years and up ready and willing to help with training. Fun loving, playful Dreamboat has not quitemastered the art of keeping all four on the floor yet when greeting people so some basic mannerstraining will be needed. We all sure do love her spunky spirit, zest for life, and enthusiasm though!Dreamboat does get rather over stimulated and excitable when around other dogs. She does not knowhow to appropriately greet or play with other canines. With slow introductions over a period of time, she has made a couple of canine friends here at WCHS. Dreamboat does need to be your one and onlyfour legged companion in the home. Cats are a definite no go.A good kitty chase and pounce is justfar too exciting to resist! Hurry in to meet Dreamboat before this wonderful girl cruises off without you!!

Tip of the Week:When approaching a new dog (especially one who is shy), crouch down low, turn your body sideways, dont stare directlyinto their eyes, offer out your hand for sniffing, and speak in a quiet, soothing voice. Stay put and let them come to you. Once the dog licksyour hand or solicits petting, scratch under their chin rather than on top of their head. License Number #266935-DS

Drs. Richard and Bruce Winte
Dear Dr. Winter, I have a slight under-bite,otherwise, my teeth are actually quite straight.I had braces on my top teeth at a young ageand as I grew up my under-bite worsened. Thisunder-bite has resulted in some unnatural wearand chipping on a couple of my top teeth. Doyou have any non-surgery solutions available?
Dear Ted, there are many options for fixingunderbites that are non-surgical but I cannot
comment on your options until I havecompleted an examination and x-ray visit.Sometimes orthodontics can correct yourproblem other times crowns can be used tochange your bite. So surgery is always the lastoption considered. It is important toremember that once significant wear andchipping has occurred, the teeth that causedthis chipping also need to be corrected torecover the space that was lost from these teetherupting in to the chipped areas.
Dear Dr. Winter, I had a tooth break at thegumline. I really dont want a bridge as I haveheard they have to shave down the other teethand those teeth will be weakened. I am alsoconcerned that I might need bone grafting tohave an implant. What is your opinion aboutplacing implants the same day the tooth comesout? Can this help me avoid a bone graft?
Dear John, the ability to place an implant the
day the tooth is removed is dependent onseveral factors. First the remaining boneshould be intact and thicker than 1.5 mm sothat there is good blood supply to fill in thegap between the implant and the remainingtooth socket. Next there should be goodstabilization of the implant and if it can not beplaced with good insertion torque, it may bebetter to graft the socket and come back in 3months to place the implant after bone fill hasoccurred. The literature supports both means
of placing implants but it is still deupon clinician skill, bone quality and and cosmetic expectations of the pati

Greenfield was competitive withGermantown for a quarter before theWarhawks scored 35 points in the secondquarter on the way to a 56-7 win Aug. 22.
Germantown took a 7-0 lead on a 7-yard run by Spencer Pethan, finishing athree play drive that started deep inGreenfield's territory following an intercep-tion by Germantown's defense. Greenfielddid force Germantown into a punt on its
next possession. But Germantown's defenseheld Greenfield in check."We started a little slow because of
what they did versus us a little bit but oncewe got in our rhythm it started to kick a littlebit," Germantown Coach Jake Davis said.
Davis said added his team has to cleanup "the first game jitters" and build on thewin.
Germantown opened the second quar-ter with Dwayne Lawhorn Jr. connectingwith Cole Karcz on a 7-yard pass play. Thatstarted the 35-point outburst which gave
Germantown a 42-7 halftime lead.Germantown added two more touch-
downs while Greenfield scored with 6:41left as Xavier Copeland scored on an 8-yard run.
Davis said the game allowed severalplayers to get repetitions in a game situation.
"This was a good time to get those guysin to show us what they got, to get someopportunities so we can see those next guys
in or who might be competing for spotsdown the road," Davis said.Pethan led all rushers with 113 yards
and two touchdowns in 11 carries.Lawhorn completed 4 of 6 passes for twotouchdowns and one interception.
