Susan Grant offers full-service multi-disciplinary Architecturaland Interior Design services for commercial and residentialclients nationwide.
Susan Grant has a strong history of both design and technicalbuilding excellence. She has served clients who are concernedabout the aesthetic, economic and technical advantages that superiordesign and engineering bring to the design and building process.We offer solutions and services which address the project criteriaand add investment value.
A native of Chicago, Susan has a Bachelor of Arts degree fromDartmouth College (Hanover, NH). At Dartmouth, she majored inStudio Art (sculpture and architecture), and then went on to earna Masters in Architecture from The University of California, Berkeley.
After graduate school, Susan continued her architecture careerexploring issues surrounding urban planning, adaptive reuse,redevelopment and affordable housing. Soon after, she joined theSan Francisco Housing Authority as a staff architect.
In 1988, she returned to Chicago to continue working on projectswhich focused on mixed-use redevelopment of depressed urbanareas. Later, she joined Chicago based Holabird & Root Architectswhere she worked as a designer on the renovation of the State ofIllinois Building, and its Supreme and Appellate Courts, in additionto many other commercial design projects.
Other project and design experience includes work for Chicagobased Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises (various restaurants),Motorola Corp., Discovery Zone, Eagle Ridge Resort and Casino,Kraft Foods, Home Run Inn Pizza, TGI Friday’s, California PizzaKitchen (various U.S. locations), Fruit of the Loom, WGN-TV Studios(Chicago), Walgreens Inc. (various new national locales), variousPublic Art Projects and many custom residential design projects.
Susan Grant is currently writing a book on the Design andConstruction process (geared toward residential, corporate and endusers). She is a licensed Architect & Certified Energy Professionaland is based in Chicago.
