Netiquette so that you can get the most out of your class.
Communication Expectation

communication within 24 hours Monday through Friday. Weekends and days when the
university are closed, the response will be the next day the university is open.
All communication should be well thought out, concise, positive in nature and use proper
English (including capitalization, punctuation, spelling, etc.)

Course Requirements
Textbooks
Required Text
“Mind Tap” access to Management 2st Edition by Ranjay Gulati; Anthony J. Mayo; Nitin
Nohria
ISBN- 9781305643697
Important Note: You may purchase the text in hard copy from the USI Bookstore as well.
You may purchase access to MindTap material used in the course through BlackBoard when you
attempt to enter it from BlackBoard the first time. MindTap includes the text in eBook format with
all the same material as the hardcopy text purchased from the bookstore. (The price of MindTap
with eBook is less expensive online than it is to purchase it from the bookstore.)
MindTap gives you the option to continue on a trial basis for a short period of time without paying
when you first enter the website for this class. You must pay at some point to complete the
coursework. This gives you the opportunity to withdraw from the course in that time without
committing to the cost of MindTap. It is the student’s responsibility to complete the financial
transaction either by using an activation code purchased through the bookstore or directly
through MindTap online. The instructor has no access to intervene in this issue.
Recommended Reading
Wall Street Journal: Wall Street Journal – I recommend that you read the Wall Street Journal
daily. Other major news media are valuable as well but over time “the Journal” provides the best
information generally available in my opinion for a very wide range of topics in addition to business
and economic topics (which it does very well).
You may subscribe to the Wall Street Journal at this website
http://www.WSJ.com/studentoffer . You will receive the least expensive subscription possible
($1 per week currently for 15 weeks).

Case Analysis Questions 15%
Grades will be calculated using the following formula: Exam points earned X.5 + Homework points earned X .2 + Discussion points earned X .15 + Case analysis points earned X .15
Exam points possible Homework points possible Discussion points possible Case analysis points possible
The following Grading Scale will be used: (Note that grades will be calculated to 2 decimal
points as indicated.)
89.50% - 100% A
84.50% - 89.49% B+
79.50% - 84.49% B
