Weather Forecast for Kingfisher County

NOT A BUCK – This 10-point deer taken on the openingday of gun season Saturday by Jeremie Hill and son.Blake, who were hunting north of Dover, proved to be asurprise. It turned out not to be a buck despite the pictureperfect 10-point rack, five points to a side. The Hillschecked the deer in at Rodney Mueggenborg’s checkstation, west of Kingfisher. The tines were somewhatthinner than those on most male deer. Wildlife officialssay the anomaly occurs occasionally in deer. The doe hadall the usual features of a doe, including udder but did notappear to have suckled a fawn this year, and no externalmale organs. Mueggenborg , here checking the deer, saidit was the first he had seen.
