Fast-Fill Water Troughs

Standard Water Troughs

JFC offer a variety of single and double reservoir water troughs ranging in capacity from 53L to 400L. The double reservoir allows the trough to be positioned between two zoned areas thereby maximising use. Smaller capacity troughs are particularly suited for calves, horses, goats and sheep. Each trough is fitted with a high pressure float valve protected within a plastic/metal cover to prevent tampering by animals and subsequent damage. These troughs are strong and durable and suitable for both internal and external use. They are easy to install and maintain and can be simply loaded into/onto a vehicle for transport.

JFC’s Insulated Water Troughs are designed with a thick layer of high density polyurethane insulation foam positioned between 2 polyethylene walls that maintain water at an optimum temperature in extreme climatic conditions. Water is protected within a secure chamber which can be easily opened by screws for servicing. Animals access the water by pushing down on the white float(s). With sufficient use and in the correct conditions these troughs can prevent water freezing in conditions as low as -25ºC. They are also effective at keeping water cool in warm conditions.

The JFC Tip-Over Water Trough has a tipping mechanism for ease of emptying and cleaning. This simple and efficient system allows farmers increase the frequency of cleaning thereby ensuring fresh, clean drinking water is available for livestock. Each trough is fitted with a high output float valve (36L/min) for quick refill after cleaning. This valve maintains a constant water capacity (100L) that is sufficient to supply drinking water to up to 5 cows simultaneously yet ensure minimum water wastage when tipping. The trough has a smooth finish to ensure animal safety and for ease of cleaning. Available with a floor or wall mounted galvanised steel frame. Optional fitting of a 24 volt heating element to prevent water freezing (HT0T).

JFC understands the importance of providing easy accessible, fresh, clean drinking water to animals. We offer an extensive range of drinkers suitable for internal and external use. The plastic used in our drinkers has high freeze/thaw cracking resistance, a particularly important feature in freezing conditions. Each drinker is designed with rounded edges for ultimate animal safety. Strategically positioned mounting holes or brackets are provided for secure fitting and ease of installation, where applicable. All bowls (excluding the DBL5 & DBL7) have optional left or right valve positioning. The Micro Drink Bowl (DBL4) and Nose Fill Drink Bowls (DBL5 & DBL7) are designed with JFC’s unique double wall making them extremely impact resistant and capable of withstanding aggressive use.

The JFC Calf Teat Feeders offer an efficient way of supplying milk to several calves at once. Each feeder is fitted with either an inverted or non-return valve teat to deliver milk by gravity feed. The teats encourage natural sucking action allowing milk to be delivered to the calf at an optimum rate. Each feeder is fitted with 2 sturdy hooks for mounting on a standard gate or fence making them extremely versatile for use around the farm. They are also ideal for use with the JFC Calf Hutch Systems. For hygiene purposes they are designed with minimum crevices making them easy to clean and can be stored upside down when not in use for effective draining and drying. They are nestable for easy storage and transport. Available as reservoir or compartment feeders.

Calf hutches are a healthy housing alternative for calves in the first 10 weeks of life. Independent trials have shown that outdoor ventilated hutches significantly reduce calf mortality and cross infections including scour and pneumonia. Preventing such conditions in the first weeks of life is essential for calves to become healthy adult stock capable of reaching their full productivity potential.

JFC have a series of footbaths which when used with good farming practices reduce the spread of infection and assist in the prevention and treatment of claw/hoof diseases and lameness. JFC footbaths are manufactured from tough polyethylene making them extremely hard wearing and durable. Suitable for all types of disinfectant solutions they have in-built safety ribs to prevent slipping. The inbuilt ribs also ensure the animals go through the footbath slower, allowing the hoof to bathe for longer. All are designed with a turned in lip which significantly reduces the amount of solution wasted due to spillages.

Storage Products

The TidyWrap is the ideal way to store waste plastic bale wraps. The bin is bottom less and has a removable lid which keeps the plastic clean and dry. When used effectively the bin can significantly reduce collection costs as the overall weight is much less if the plastic were wet and contaminated. The TidyWrap is designed specifically to allow a bale wrap to be used as a liner saving on the cost of buying a new liner each time.

Storage Products

The instructions below show how to cut strips into the bale which create four tie handles that form the liner. The liner is secured to the bin with a bungee cord (supplied) and is now ready to store 150 – 200 bale wraps. Once full these handles are tied together and the bin can be easily lifted off leaving a full plastic bale which is ready for collection.

Yard Drain Gullys

JFC CorriPipe™ is also suitable for grain aeration applications. It is a low cost solution to cooling and conditioning most floor stored crops. It can be used for both vertical or horizontal pedestal systems.

The yard gully has three connections and is suitable for both DN110 and DN160 PVC pipes. It minimises pipe blockages by trapping heavy solids at the base for later removal. Made from polyethylene it is quick and easy to install and does not require heavy lifting equipment.

Domestic Grease Trap

The domestic grease trap minimises pipe blockages by reducing the amount of grease (and other fat/oil based substances) entering the drainage system. This innovative product operates on the principal of gravity separation. Waste water enters the trap from source (eg. a kitchen sink). Oil/fat naturally rise to the surface of the water and is captured as a semi-solid layer. Heavier waste solids sink and get deposited at the bottom of the filter bucket. The intermediate “clean” water layer washes through the filter bucket and continues through the drainage system via the suitably positioned outlet pipe.

To ensure proper maintenance the system should be inspected on a regular basis. For best practice the filter bucket should beemptiedoncepermonth(subjecttousage).Thefilterbuckethasasufficientlylonghandletopreventtheusercomingin contact with the waste contents. It is easy to install (instructions provided) and suitable for new and existing waste water systems with 110mm piping.
