Page 8: Supporting Effective Teachingbpslearningsessions.weebly.com/uploads/9/9/3/2/9932784/... · 2019. 12. 1. · By the end of today’s session, we expect that you will understand…

Using the Rubric

1. Silently read through each of the performance levels for each

sub indicator

2. As a group choose one sub indicator to unpack

3. On the chart paper provided record possible observable

behaviors (teacher and students actions / practices) for each

rating category for the chosen sub indicator

4. Be prepared to present to the whole group

Page 9: Supporting Effective Teachingbpslearningsessions.weebly.com/uploads/9/9/3/2/9932784/... · 2019. 12. 1. · By the end of today’s session, we expect that you will understand…

Application of Rubric

• Consider the evidence (lesson plan, video clip)

• Use the graphic organizer to record evidence you

observe

• surface_area_of_cylinders_lesson_plan2.pdf

• chris mccloud 14 min final.m4v

• After considering the evidence, group members will

use the rubric to rate Mr. McCloud on clarity / focus,

classroom management and alignment and

coherence sub-indicators and support their rating

with evidence of specific behaviors

• Each small group will report back to the whole

group on the rating and evidence

Prioritization

• Each P/H will note the 6 sub-indicators that we

should focus on in BPS

• P/HM will use post-it notes to chart the indicators

they chose

• Table groups will discuss the results of the charts and

be prepared to talk to the larger group the 6

priorities they think BPS should focus on

• Each quadrant group will listen to each table and

then make a recommendation to the whole group

about the 6 priorities
