As the supply chain becomes more refined and integrated, logistics management has an even greater impact on the bottom line. Every dollar allocated to transportation must be efficient. DXC Inbound Transport Management introduces new possibilities for tracking of goods in transit and offers unparalleled accuracy of costing.

At every step, enhanced functionality improves efficiency and empowers better decision making. By automation of administrative tasks, DXC Inbound Transport Management improves staff productivity and gives them the time they need to focus on problem solving and strategic initiatives.

Landing costs often account for 40% or more of the total cost of each imported freight item. First, there’s transport to the departure port, loading, sailing, customs clearance, and, finally, transport from the port of arrival. Then there are the delays, duties or other contingencies that will impact on the landed price. With a single data entry, DXC Inbound Transport Management allows you to record costs for every step of the journey quickly and accurately.

Shipment Creator

Every step of a shipment can be defined. Purchase order lines can be selected

and added to a container. Multiple containers can be added to a shipment. DXC

Inbound Transport Management is true multi-entity and a container or shipment

can have different orders for different legal entities. All costs will be allocated back

to the correct entity. Specific costs are defined at the Shipment, Container, PO,

and PO Line Item levels.

Template Shipping and Costing

DXC Inbound Transport Management supports the creation of a series of templates

covering standard freight journeys. All steps can be templated with a series of

costing reflecting all fees incurred throughout the freight journey. Costs can be

accrued or actual costs recorded for each step.

Cost allocations can be as simple or complex as you want and a single

container can have costs allocated automatically across items owned by

different legal entities.

These automated templates lower administration costs, and ensure full legal and

regulatory compliance for all freight shipments.

Shipment tracking

DXC Inbound Transport Management includes functionality to record and track

shipments in transit.

All data is integrated across the standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 suite. Simply

enter an activity start or end date such as the loading date, that single entry

updates the shipping status, and the Purchase Order receipt or confirmed date.

• Record Lead times between multiple ports based on rules

• Assign a shipment status to the Purchase Order line i.e. Goods in transit

• Process Invoices prior to receipting of goods

• Cross entity sharing of Containers and Shipments

• Place goods from multiple vendors/countries/regions in the same container.
