Happy New Year! And what a way to start it off…We are back in stock with some of your favorite items!

Tropical Valley /Next Organics, is back in full production on their delicious Dark Chocolate covered Fruit.

International Food Association is shipping their Lemon Curd & Whole Sugar Cane again. We now have Back to

Natures incredible soups in stock too! Also, we now have a few of So Delicious Coconut Milk products back in

stock. On the down side, Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar had to be added to the OOS report due to unexpected

production delay. We also had a few Suppliers’, such as Liberty Richer & Ziyad Brothers, which had to push

We are working together with hundreds of family farms to dramatically increase the amount of product

available to sell, although at times our long range forecasts underestimate consumer demand. This has

resulted in out of stocks that have impacted customer shipments in 2014. We have taken the necessary steps

to source additional raw materials which will be available beginning January 2015. The below Applegate items

We are currently unable to fulfill orders as our farmers had a poor harvest. It has been our intention to ensure

CrispRoot farming uses neither toxic pesticide nor inorganic chemicals that can degrade the farm (required by

Rainforest Alliance). Less protection, however, exposes increased risks as crops are more prone to insect

damages and other causes that adversely affect farming harvests. They do not have a definitive date for

Blue Diamond

Supplier implemented new SAP system with automated data migration. During migration master data issues

prevented a fully successful migration. PO’s were lost out of the system severely affecting orders. Supplier lost

complete visibility of supply chain. Supplier is working diligently to fix and get PO’s back in system for

processing. This has caused major delays in transportation and receiving our PO’s. Buyers are working with

BD customer service to coordinate and route PO’s as quickly as possible.

Dark Red Kidney Beans in Organic have had a crop failure and are going to be OOS until new crop

2014 September.

Lone Pine Medium Grain Brown Rice OOS until new crop fall 2014.

Organic Peanut Butterstock having backlog of production delays. Will see some OOS during this time.

Organic Macadamia nuts are long term OOS with No ETA.

All peanuts are going to have supply issues in bulk for us as the supplier we use gets up and going to

fill the pipeline.

This vendor is experiencing a shortage in Organic Milk. They are aggressively seeking out the best possibility

for a solution. At this time there is no ETA for a full in stock status.

Organic Butter

Most of the organic butter suppliers are having a difficult time in supplying UNFI with the quantities we have

sales for, thus causing shortages. The suppliers are affected by draught conditions in the west and in the

Midwest. The past drought conditions had caused farmers to reduce their herds so they do not have as much

milk to provide now. All suppliers are analyzing their options to increase their production but there will be a

shortage through the holiday season.

Organic Valley

Items that we will continue to allocate: *UHT dairy items including (but not limited to) 64, 32, 16 and 8 oz. white milks, lactose free milk, and Omega-3 milk, *Dairy creamer items, Butter products including (but not limited to) salted, unsalted and cultured quarters and 8 oz. sticks, *Parmesan 12/4 oz. grated & shredded cheese as well as the Parmesan 40 lb. bulk block,

Pacific Foods

These items require very long cook times, and are produced in a different way than our traditional broths. Both

items are constrained by capacity in our production facilities due to those longer cook times. To mitigate the

situation, we are installing new equipment in Q1, 2015 which will increase our capacity to produce these

items.Additionally, the turkey bone broth is facing an ingredient supply issue with Organic Turkeys. We have

provided an aggressive forecast for 2015 to our partner farms, and our purchasing group has sought out

additional sources, but due to the long growing times for turkeys, we anticipate that it will be some time before

the supply stabilizes.

We are working very hard to expand supply by encouraging farmers to grow their herds by offering a premium for this limited protein. Converting farms to organic takes time, money, and balanced utilization. Growers must first be convinced there will be a premium market for every part of the organic pig, not just the bellies and hams. Then, it takes three years to convert a farm from conventional to organic in addition to investments in roomier pens that conform to the Applegate humane raising standards. And once the farms are ready, it still takes six months to raise organic hogs at the natural pace of growth. We’ve been involved in these change efforts for years and we will see supplies continue to grow. You will be notified as supply the situation improves.

Dear Valued Partner

With your support, Calbee North America has become the largest US buyer of dried peas which are used

to produce our Snapea Crisps. A vast majority of our peas are purchased from Canada. The same can be

said for the Crimson Lentils that we purchase for the production of our Lentil Snaps.

According to the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's (AAFC) outlook report for 2014-15, the Crimson

Lentil carry out demand increased dramatically for the second straight year. This put pressure on the

supply side and ultimately the amount available to purchase. Carry-out stocks decreased to the lowest

levels since 2009-10.

In the U.S., the area seeded to lentils for 2014-15 is forecast by the USDA at 0.3 million acres, down 12%

from 2013-14 due to lower area seeded in Montana. Assuming normal yields and abandonment, 2014-

15 U.S. lentil production is therefore forecast by AAFC at 0.2 Mt, down 19% from this year.

Because of the circumstances listed above, Calbee has very limited stock to produce the Lentil Snaps.

We are signing contracts for the 2014-15 season to secure the raw materials necessary to keep up with

demand. Our supply will be uninterrupted once we have signed contracts for the new crop.

In the meantime, we cannot procure enough Crimson Lentils to consistently fill your orders. Therefore

we have to temporarily limit our Lentil Snaps production which prevents Calbee from servicing your

business. This is a very difficult decision for us and we know this is not easy for you. This is a short term

issue. We anticipate being back on the shelf in 4 to 6 months.

We are sorry for the inconvenience. Your support has been tremendous and the Harvest Snaps brand
