Our RSCs evaluate results of the following tests to determine what seed to select for their localareas. Every decision is made based on extensive local, regional and national testing.

Cold Test

• Emergence under less-than-ideal conditions (cold soils)

• If results are below average, second test (saturated cold) is conducted

Saturated Cold Test

• Emergence under unfavorable conditions (cold, wet soils)

• Imbibition chilling of the seed

Warm Germination – Only Federal Seed Law Test Required

• 2 labs• Tests favorable conditions

Germination Evaluation

• Study normal, abnormal and dead seed to predict plant vigor and fi eld emergence

Genetic and Trait Purity

• Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) testing to check for both wanted and unwanted genetic and trait markers in nucleotides, the smallest unit of DNA

Conventional Hybrid Testing

• Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing amplifi es DNA sections searching for GMO presence
