The central platform for the worldwide superyacht industry at METS 201 1
Not just a show-within-a-show, the SYP is a trade-show
within a trade-show, thus enjoying a double layer of
exposure and opportunities. Add to this the benefits
of the Global Superyacht Forum (GSF) – the high profile
conference organised by the Yacht Report Group that
runs in association with the SYP – and a wealth of social
networking opportunities, and you find yourself in the
most important and influential superyacht business
environment in the world.
Where is the SYP?The SYP has its own dedicated hall (No. 10) in
Amsterdam RAI, the number 1 Convention Centre in
Europe, where it is connected directly to the conference
arena used for the GSF. This enhances and facilitates
the networking opportunities for all attendees and
consolidates the METS superyacht experience.
THE SUPERYACHT PAVILION AT METS 2011THE INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS PLATFORM FOR SUPERYACHT PROFESSIONALS
Dedicated to companies that offer equipment and services specifically to the large leisure yacht
sector, the SuperYacht Pavilion (SYP) is a destination in its own right that sits at the heart of
METS – the world’s biggest and best attended leisure marine product show.
“The SuperYacht Pavilion at METS is an excellent platform for SYBAss members to meet their suppliers
in a sophisticated strictly B2B environment. Yachtshows are essential to meet potential customers,METS is crucial to meet the essential suppliers.”
Mr. Theo HooningSecretary General SYBAss
Who exhibits? You will only be allowed to exhibit in the SYP if you
are a bona fide supplier of products and/or services to
the large luxury yacht sector. The SYP is the only part of
METS where service providers, in addition to equipment
manufacturers or their authorised distributors, are
allowed to exhibit. This is reflected in areas such as
the Refit Boulevard.
Who visits? The SYP is a meeting point for true industry professionals
– designers, builders, superyacht captains, brokers
project managers, and the owners. It is also of interest
to nearly half of the 20,000 trade-only visitors who
come to METS every year and is a must-visit for the
on-the-spot speakers and delegates taking part in
the GSF and the captains and crew members of the
International Superyacht Society who gather at the
SYP every year for their Members’ Mixer event. Last
but not least, the members of SYBass (the Superyacht
Boatbuilding Association) hold their annual Executive
Meeting here.
About METSMETS attracts nearly 1,300 exhibitors from all over the
world and grows year on year. Hundreds of exhibitors
return to METS every year thus endorsing its importance
as the international trade show of choice and new
companies also see METS as a wise investment.
In 2010 METS welcomed 250 first-time exhibitors!
METS is strictly trade-only and this makes it an essential
working hub for the marine industry professional.
Time and again, exhibitors tell us that the networking
opportunities at METS are unrivalled.

players and important decision makers in the industry.

delivers in every way – with top profile presenters and

JOIN THE MARK
Innovation in designThe DAME (Design Award METS), which celebrated its
20th anniversary in 2010, is the world’s most coveted
and prestigious prize for product innovation in the
leisure marine field.
The independent jury is headed by
Chairman Bill Dixon of Dixon Yacht Design.
Over the past twenty years, judges
have scrutinised several thousand
pace-setting products in specific
marine categories. All products entered
must be displayed at METS/SYP and are put on show
in the special DAME Pavilion. The DAME awards are
presented at the annual Breakfast Briefing, an event
held for exhibitors and special guests before show
opening time on the first morning of METS.
Participation is highly competitive but the winner reaps
great rewards. Christiaan Maras, marketing director
EMA for FLIR Systems – winner of the DAME in 2009 –
described the accolade as a ‘tremendous boost’ to the
company’s participation at METS. “Not only did we
attract a lot more visitors but the international press
also easily found its way to our booth. After the show,
we had a lot of press coverage worldwide in all
important maritime magazines. The DAME Award
helped us enormously to put our new M-Series thermal
imaging camera in the market worldwide,” he said.
