SUPER PRESTO INSTANT GARAGE BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS

A. Preparing the Site

1) The ideal site should be reasonably flat or slightly elevated to facilitate water run off. 2) Square off the erection site by making sure distance A & B are the same. Mark the

corners and locations of studs at 4’ centers.

B. Layout the Baseplates

1) On a flat surface (preferably concrete or asphalt) layout the treated 2” x 6” baseplates as directed below. Drill out holes for the ground pegs to be inserted into. Measurement from opposing corners should equal 37’-8 13/16”. Install ground pegs. Next install baseplate clips onto baseplate at 4’ O/C, except on corners. (Note: Example is for a 32’ model)

C. Assembling a Member/Arch 1) On a flat surface (preferably concrete or asphalt) lay out one complete frame member.

Layout the 2” x 6” members, leaving enough room in the corners for the 2” x 4” purlins (horizontal supports), using the outside to outside measurements provided below. Ensure that the ends of the 2” x 6” which are marked with a “slash” are assembled together in the corners A & B. Lay the corner and peak gussets into place and use a 3/8” drill to screw eight #8 x 1 ¼” wood screws into place, follow screw pattern below. Use the 2”x 4” “assembly block” as a purlin to align corners and gussets as shown below. Next install the peak brace using the joiners supplied and the #8 x 1 ¼” wood screws. Next install the peak brace and the joiners using the 1” Round Head screws. The peak brace fits directly below the peak gusset and attaches with a 4 joiners. (2 on each side) Turn the unit over and install the gussets and joiners on the opposite side just like the previous step. Once the member is complete use it as a template to assemble the remaining members.

Page 6/11 D. Erecting the Arches

1) When erecting the arches onto the baseplates make sure the first arch is roped and secure as shown below. (not mandatory to rope other arches) Once the arch is up, secure it to the baseplate through the use of the baseplate clips. Use the #8 x 1 ¼” wood screws to attach stud to the baseplate clip as shown below.

E. Installing the Purlin Supports

1) When installing purlins remember to offset them from side to side (as shown below left). Once the purlins are set in place take two #8 x 2” wood screws and toe nail them through the studs and into the purlins to hold them in place. (as shown below right) Repeat for each arch.

Page 7/11 F. Installation of Horizontal and Diagonal Bracing

1) Install the horizontal bracing on the outside at 3” from the baseplate or 4.5” from the ground using #8 x 3” wood screws. The inside horizontal braces are installed 6’ from the ground using #8 x 2” wood screws. Install the diagonal bracing just above the top horizontals. Diagonals will cross 3 arch members. Reverse the direction from one side to the other for more support as shown below.

G. Installation of Rear/Back Members

1) Install the door header first by inserting the door header into the corner gussets and attaching using the #8 x 2” wood screws as shown in detail E. Next install the door frame members using #8 x 1¼” wood screws and l-brackets at the bottom as shown in detail A, and #8 x 1 ¼” wood screws and joiners at the top as shown in detail D. Next install the walk-in door header using #8 x 1¼” wood screws and joiners as shown in detail B. Finish the end wall by securing the foundation members to the baseplates using #8 x 1¼” wood screws and l-brackets as shown in Detail C. (2 brackets per side)

NOTE: Joiners are installed on both sides of the wood frame members.

Page 8/11 H. Installation of the Front Door Frame Members

1) Install the door frame header first by inserting each end into the corner gussets and aligning it with the corner of the studs. One it is level and aligned screw 2 - #8 x 1 ¼” wood screws through the corner gusset and into the header to attach it. (shown below) Repeat for other side. 2) Install the vertical door frame member first by aligning the bottom at 90 degrees to the ground and the baseplate. Insert the top of the door frame member in between the corner gussets and when it is level/vertical use two #8 x 1 ¼” wood screws to attach it. Repeat for opposite side.

3) Install the door baseplate using 4 - #8 x 1 ¼” wood screws on the inside to attach it to the door frame member. Repeat on opposite side. Once the door baseplates are secured to the door frame members use a #8 x 3” wood screw and toenail it through the side of the door frame member and down through the treated 2” x 6” baseplate for stability. (shown below left) Repeat on opposite side.

Page 9/11 I. Installation of Corner and Side Guards

1) Install all of the corner and side guards to wall frame members using #8 x 1¼” wood screws. Make sure to leaver 2” of space from the edge of the front door frame member to the front corner kick guard for the tapered door guide to fit.

J. Installation of Tarpaulins and Door Guides

1) Once the corner and side guard panels are in place, install the door guides in order to hold the front corner tarps in place. First take the front corner tarps and staple them in place with a industrial stapler, then use #8 x 3” wood screws to attach door guide to the door frame member over the tarp. (as shown below right) After the door guide is in place use the 1” wood screws with a washer to secure the corner tarps on. Repeat for opposite side.

Page 12: Super Presto Garage Building Instructionsinlandplastics.com/.../Instructions/Super_Presto_Instructions.pdf · Super Presto Garage Building Instructions ... SUPER PRESTO PARTS LIST

Page 10/11 2) Next install the peak cover. Staple cover into place, make sure the bottom of the door is just above the ground. Staple the peak portion only.

3) Once the peak cover is in place install the rear/back cover in the same manner. 4 ) The fitted top cover is folded as to roll down from the center ridge of the building. You will note that the cover is tailored to pull over the gable. Place the top cover over the building so that the Grey/Silver side is out and 3 cuts in the cover ends are directly over points A, B, & C as shown below. Next screw down the center as shown then pull the cover tight going from end to end put screws/washers at about 18’’ on center.

7) Next install the polyethylene rope onto the sides of your cover in order to finish securing you top cover. Make sure rope is tight all along the side so that cover does flap too much in wind.

Page 13: Super Presto Garage Building Instructionsinlandplastics.com/.../Instructions/Super_Presto_Instructions.pdf · Super Presto Garage Building Instructions ... SUPER PRESTO PARTS LIST

Page 11 8) Door Tarps To install the door tarps you will need the 2 pieces of steel strapping. The top of the door tarps have a rope sewn into the hem and the bottom has a pocket. The door tarp is wider than the opening so you must center the door giving approximately the same amount of material on either side of the door. The door should be just above the ground by 1” or 2”. Once you have the door in position it is to be secured to the door header with the steel strapping using the 1” round head wood screws and locate it just below the rope in the hem. Repeat for the other door as shown below.

Page 14: Super Presto Garage Building Instructionsinlandplastics.com/.../Instructions/Super_Presto_Instructions.pdf · Super Presto Garage Building Instructions ... SUPER PRESTO PARTS LIST

15. The excess tarp material on the ground must be weighted down. Sand bags can be used for flap weight for short periods, but using soil or road gravel on the flat is much more effective. Weights on the flaps are not sufficient to keep this unit stable in strong winds. The 6 ground pegs (provided) must be driven into firm soil.

Your Presto Instant Garage Is Now Ready For Use!
