FeaturesHigh quality sound0 High Bitrate and High Sampling with Advanced AL32 Processing

PlusA high bitrate and high sampling has been achieved with Denon'sunique data interpolation algorithm. 16 bit audio signals are convertedto a high bitrate of 32 bit and 44.1 kHz sampling signals are up-sampledby 16x to achieve smoother recreation of sound waves. Datainterpolation is also used, predicting interpolation points from a largenumber of surrounding points to provide audio as close as possible tothe original sound. This elaborate restoration of data lost during digitalrecording achieves fine, distortion-free rendering, accurate soundlocalizing, rich bass and recreation that is faithful to the original sound.

0 DAC Master Clock Design for the Ideal ClockTo make full use of the properties of this unit's semiconductor, it wasimportant to use a highly accurate clock signal for the semiconductor'soperations. This model contains 2 oscillators, one for each frequency. These oscillators are developed to dramatically decrease phase noisecaused by frequency displacement, achieving a more stable and moreaccurate clock than ever before. The master clock is near the D/Aconverter, reducing jittering to achieve faithful playback.

0 Advanced S.V.H. Mechanism & Direct Mechanical GroundConstructionAdvanced S.V.H. Mechanism, each individual part, including the disctray made of Xylon with 2 metal damper plates, is composed of differentmetallic materials each designed for their specific purpose. Thisproduces outstanding vibration-damping properties, including dampingenhancement and diffusion of the resonance point due to the highmass. The mechanism is designed with a low center of gravity, reducingvibration from the inner area during disc rotation, and its structure isalso highly resistant to external vibration. It also employs DirectMechanical Ground Construction, which completely eliminates theimpact of internal and external vibration, for example by locating thepower transformer close to the foot. This prevents the transmission ofunwanted vibration as well as noise outflow.

Explanation of termsAdvanced AL32 Processing PlusEquipped with Advanced AL32 Processing Plus, Denon’s own analogwaveform reproduction technology. The reproducibility of weak signals is enhanced by expanding 16 bit digitaldata to 32 bit.AIFF (Audio Interchange File Format)This is an uncompressed and lossless format for digital audio. Use AIFFfiles to burn high-quality audio CDs from imported songs. AIFF files useapproximately 10 MB of disk space per minute.Apple Lossless Audio CodecThis is a codec for lossless audio compression method developed byApple Inc. This codec can be played back on iTunes, iPod or iPhone. Datacompressed to approximately 60 – 70% can be decompressed to exactlythe same original data.

DSD (Direct-Stream Digital)One of the audio data recording methods, it is the signal aspect used tostore audio signals on a super audio CD, and is Δ-Σ modulated digitalaudio.FLACFLAC stands for Free lossless Audio Codec, and is a lossless free audiofile format. Lossless means that the audio is compressed without any lossin quality. The FLAC license is as shown below.Copyright (C) 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008,2009 Josh CoalsonRedistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or withoutmodification, are permitted provided that the following conditions are met:0 Redistributions of source code must retain the above copyright notice,

It compresses the datavolume to about one eleventh its original size while maintaining soundquality equivalent to a music CD.

WMA (Windows Media Audio)This is audio compression technology developed by MicrosoftCorporation.WMA data can be encoded using Windows Media® Player. To encode WMA files, only use applications authorized by MicrosoftCorporation. If you use an unauthorized application, the file may not workproperly.Sampling frequencySampling involves taking a reading of a sound wave (analog signal) atregular intervals and expressing the height of the wave at each reading indigitized format (producing a digital signal). The number of readings taken in one second is called the “samplingfrequency”. The larger the value, the closer the reproduced sound is to theoriginal.Dynamic rangeThe difference between the maximum undistorted sound level and theminimum discernible level above the noise emitted by the device.DownmixThis function converts the number of channels of surround audio to alower number of channels and plays back according to the system’sconfiguration.
