Some of you made that possible by being on site to ‘host’ anyone who came. We really didn’t have anyone from the community stop by, both because we didn’t really advertise it well, and because we have no history of being ‘open for business’. The biggest byproduct was, that many of those who came to host found for themselves a profound sense of peace and the presence of Jesus while they were here. The building felt alive, energetic, with people coming, not to do ‘something’ in it, but for the sake of Christ and His house. At the heart of the HTT calling is this land/building/ location and the power of it. We can be so busy ‘doing things’ (even good things) here that we haven’t seen the power of the place itself. This is our Turangawaewae: our place to stand. Let’s open the doors and live vibrantly from here into the face of this city. Donald Carter

Through December we opened the church for folk to stop by and spend some time in a peaceful space.

At the heart of the HTT calling is this land/building/location and the power of it. We can be so busy ‘doing things’ (even good things) here that we haven’t seen the power of the place itself. This is our Turangawaewae: our place to stand. Let’s open the doors and live vibrantly from here into the face of this city.

Hospital Chapel Volunteers Needed Maximum of 4 helpers required for Sun 24 Feb, also to go on a roster. This team helps at the Tauranga Hospital Chapel four Sundays a year. We meet at the hospital at 9.30am to pray with the Chaplin, then on to the wards to accompany patients to Chapel. We sit with the patients during Chapel and return them to the Wards, finishing at 11.30am. This is hugely appreciated by patients and Chaplins; without our help the Chapel would struggle to hold church. Please contact Donald ph 578 7718 / email [email protected] or contact Michael Smith, our Hospital Chapel co-ordinator, ph 027 653 5107.

Collect: Faithful and compassionate God, Jesus was not received in his home town and still we fail to recognise you: grant us hearts and minds receptive to your word; and give us the love and will to serve you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen
