Sunday’s Sermon WHAT TO PRAY THIS WEEK This Sunday’s Music SONGS OF WORSHIP As we prepare for corporate worship, meditate on the lyrics from some of our songs of worship. 1. Pray for those who will lead in worship: Pastor J. Josh Smith Bryant Jones and the MBBC Worship Ministry 2. Pray that Jesus Christ will be exalted in and through the Church gathered at MBBC – and worldwide! 3. Pray for the Valley Ranch community as we seek to see people saved and lives changed through the ministries of our church. 4. Begin praying for the fatherless generation in Valley Ranch. 5. Pray Haggai 2:9 for our church, that “the latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former…” This week begin preparing for worship by prayerfully reading both Deuteronomy 6 and Joshua 1. Deuteronomy 6 tells us what the people needed to do when they entered the land, and Joshua 1 tells us how God is about to take them into the land. In the midst of all the battles they would fight and all the miracles they would see, the people had to remember one thing: they must be faithful to tell the next generation what God has done. Deuteronomy 6 is a powerful text. It begins with the faithfulness of the parents to love God. It then moves to the faithfulness of parents to teach children. It then warns against idolatry and tells about all that is as stake if we fail to be faithful. Read this chapter carefully. What is the emphasis of the text? What is the primary point of instructing our children? What will happen if they are faithful? What if they are not? What is our role? As you prepare for worship this Sunday, please pray for the commitment you will bring. Personally, you need to pray, listen, and obey what God is telling YOU to do in regard to the We Will Tell initiative. But also pray for our church as a whole. Pray that every member would be involved. Prelude Music Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) Edwin O. Excell, John Newton, Chris Tomlin, Louie Giglio, John P. Rees and Ed Cash Feat. 4. Begin praying for the fatherless generation in Valley Ranch.

5. Pray Haggai 2:9 for our church, that “the latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former…”

This week begin preparing for worship by prayerfully reading both Deuteronomy 6 and Joshua 1.

Sunday’s Sermon In response to Sunday’s message, take time to think about these truths and the response questions.

For Kids: Joshua and Caleb Numbers 13:1 – 14:38

Big Picture Question for Kids: What happens when God’s people sin?

Big Picture Answer for Kids: Sin has a price, but God forgives sin when people seek forgiveness.

Christ Connection: Even though Joshua was not perfect, he lived a life of obedience to God. Joshua was faithful and was going to lead the people into the Promised Land. His accomplishments point to Christ’s finished work on the cross – defeating Satan, setting people free from sin, and making the way into the promised land of eternity.

Key Passage: Exodus 20:1-17

For Teenagers: The Rise and Fall of the Southern Kingdom Lesson Text: Isaiah 6:8-13; Jeremiah 31:31-34; Joel 2:12-13; 2 Chronicles 36:15-21 One Conversation Resource for Parents: https://s3.amazonaws.com/TGPdownloads/One_Conversation_Session_2_11.rtf

Kingdom Principle: In order for the next generation to trust and follow Christ, we must tell them what God has done and what God can do.

Truth: If one generation fails to faithfully train their children to trust and follow Christ the next generation will fall away from God. It is very easy, in the midst of all of our own battles, victories, and miraculous moments, to forget how important it is to continually train up those under us.

Truth: In order for the next generation to believe, we must tell the next generation what God has done and what God can do. They must hear what God has done through Christ and what God can do with them when they trust Christ.

Response: Read Romans 10:11-17. What is the truth in this text? How does this apply to our desire to reach the Next Generation? What is our responsibility as a church?

Response: How are you investing in the next generation? If you have children, how are you faithfully applying the truths of Deuteronomy 6? If you don’t have children, how are you investing in the next generation?

Response: At MBBC, we are continually in need of mentors and tutors for those outside of the church. We are also in constant need for teachers and helpers in our children’s and student ministry. We especially need MEN to teach in our children’s ministry. If you do not have a place to serve, talk with Karen and Aaron.
