Welcome to Riverside! Generations of immigrants have come to this country seeking a better life. Some left everything behind in order to have a chance at a new and more promising future here. Grandparents and parents no matter where they are from have always desired a better life for their children. Every generation makes sacrifices for the next in the hope that those who come after them will benefit. Riverside Presbyterian was founded by spiritual immigrants: believers who trusted God’s promises and followed God’s call to plant a church in Cocoa Beach. We gather for worship today in a sanctuary built on the commitment and sacrifices of an earlier generation. Riverside is planning and preparing for 2017. But the hopes we have for the future and the decisions we make about how to get there will have a lasting impact. Last Sunday we kicked off Stewardship 2017 with a challenge to the congregation to make a commitment for an unknown future. That unknown future extends to the next generation. Counting it all joy, Pastor Melanie
