To fedron tis Anastaseos kirigma, ek tu angelu mathuse e tu Kiriu mathitrie, ke tin progonikin apofasin aporrip-

sase, tis Apostolis kafhomena elegon Eskilefte o thantos, igerthi Christos o Theos, thorumenos to kosmo to mega

    eleos.

When the tidings of the resurrection from the glorious angel was proclaimed unto the women disciples and our

ancestral sentence also had been abolished to the Apostles with boasting did they proclaim that death is van-

quished ever more and Christ our God has risen from the dead and granted to the world His great mercy.

Hymn for St . John Cl imacus

With the streams of thy tears, thou didst cultivate the barrenness of the desert; and by thy sighings from the

depths, thou didst bear fruit a hundredfold in labors; and thou became a luminary shining with miracles upon the

world, O John our righteous Father. Intercede with Christ God that our souls be saved

Hymn for the Transf igurat ion of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Chris t

tis amartolis to fos Sou to aidion, presvies tis Theotokou Fotodota doxa Si.

When O Christ our God Thou wast Transfigured on the mountain Thou didst reveal Thy glory to Thy disciples in

proportion as they could bear it. Let Thine everlasting light also enlighten us sinners. Through the intercessions of

the Theotokos, O Thou Bestower of light, glory to Thee

To You the Champion Commander, I, Your city, inscribe victorious anthems of thanksgiving for deliverance from

sufferings, Theotokos. In as much as you have power unassailable, from all manner of dangers set me free. That I

may cry out to you, Rejoice Bride unwedded

    Megalynarion

All of creation rejoices in you, O full of grace; the assembly of angels and the human race. You are a sanctified

temple and a spiritual paradise , the glory from whom God was incarnate and become a child our God existing

before all ages. He made your womb a throne, and your body more spacious than the heavens. All of creation re-

joices in you, O full of grace. Glory to you.

  • Epistle - St. Paul's Letter to the Hebrews 6:13-20 Prokeimenon. Mode 4.

    Psalm 103.24,1

O Lord, how manifold are your works. You have

    made all things in wisdom.

Verse: Bless the Lord, O my soul.

The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the He-

    brews 6:13-20

B RETHREN, when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore to himself, saying,

"Surely I will bless you and multiply you." And

thus Abraham, having patiently endured, obtained

the promise. Men indeed swear by a greater than

themselves, and in all their disputes an oath is fi-

nal for confirmation. So when God desired to

show more convincingly to the heirs of the prom-

ise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he

interposed with an oath, so that through two un-

changeable things, in which it is impossible that

God should prove false, we who have fled for ref-

uge might have strong encouragement to seize the

hope set before us. We have this as a sure and

steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters in-

to the inner shrine behind the curtain, where Jesus

has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having

become a high priest for ever after the order of

    Melchizedek

We will be passing a second tray today for

    Hellenic College Holy Cross

  • Th e G o s p e l Ac c o r d i n g t o Ma r k 9 : 1 7 - 3 1 A t that time, a man came to Jesus kneeling and saying: "Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a dumb spirit; and wherever it seizes him it

dashes him down; and he foams and grinds his teeth

and becomes rigid; and I asked your disciples to

cast it out, and they were not able." And he an-

swered them, "O faithless generation, how long am I

to be with you? How long am I to bear with you?

    Bring him to me." And they brought the boy to him;

and when the spirit saw him, immediately it con-

vulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled

about, foaming at the mouth. And Jesus asked his

father, "How long has he had this?" And he said,

"From childhood. And it has often cast him into the

fire and into the water, to destroy him; but if you

can do anything, have pity on us and help us." And

Jesus said to him, "If you can! All things are possi-

ble to him who believes." Immediately the father of

the child cried out and said, "I believe; help my un-

belief!" And when Jesus saw that a crowd came run-

ning together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying

to it, "You dumb and deaf spirit, I command you,

come out of him, and never enter him again." And

after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came

out, and the boy was like a corpse; so that most of

them said, "He is dead." But Jesus took him by the

hand and lifted him up, and he arose. And when he

had entered the house, his disciples asked him pri-

vately, "Why could we not cast it out?" And he said

to them, "This kind cannot be driven out by any-

thing but prayer and fasting." They went on from

there and passed through Galilee. And he would not

have any one know it; for he was teaching his disci-

ples, saying to them, "The Son of man will be deliv-

    ered into the hands of men, and they will kill him;

and when he is killed, after three days he will rise."

We are very appreciative that we are being allowed to park at the base again

this week. Please remember, if you are young and able, to park at the base

and free up space in our lot for our older parishioners, guests and families with small children.

Also as a reminder for everyone, please refrain from parking in a reserved space or along the

emergency lanes marked off by the orange cones. Emergency lanes need to be kept clear in case
