team! Here’s how to use it:

FAQs

Is my registration fee tax-deductible? No, registration fees are not tax-deductible. If you make a donation while registering, your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Can my registration be transferred to another person or refunded? There are no transfers of registration fees to another participant or another event. Registration fees are not refundable for any reason, including cancellation of the event, or participant withdrawal from the event.

Can I change the mailing address for my shirt? Yes. Email [email protected] with your new address.

Where will the virtual BT5K Chicago be hosted? The BT5K Your Way's virtual celebration will be hosted on Sunday, October 4 virtually. Before the celebration, we invite all participants to complete the 5K on their own time in whatever way they'd like.

How can I participate in the virtual event? All you need to do is register for the event and complete your 5K before October 4.

About: The Virtual BT5K Chicago allows you to run our walk our 5K wherever and whenever you want! Location: Anywhere! Complete the 5K in your neighborhood, on a trail, or even on a treadmill. We have a few preset routes on the RaceJoy app, or you can choose your own. Distance and Time: Distance and time can be tracked via the RaceJoy app, but it is not required to report any of that information to us. The RaceJoy app is free to use and a link will be provided to participants closer to the event date. BT5K Shirt: Your shirt will be shipped to the mailing address given at registration prior to the October 4 event.* *This is guaranteed for participants who registered by September 21. If registered after September 21, your shirt may arrive later.

Tribute Video: If you would like to include a photo of yourself or a loved one

that has/had a brain tumor for our Tribute video, please send photos to Erika at

[email protected] by September 25.

Please be sure to have the permission of the person(s) photographed before sending

any photos. In the email, include the survivor’s/patient’s first name, last name, and

one of the following phrases:

“In loving memory of…”

“Currently Fighting”

“Survivor of X years” (please include the number of months and/or years.)

Sponsorship: If you secure a sponsorship for the BT5K, we will attribute their sponsor amount to your personal fundraising amount, helping you (and your team) reach your fundraising goals! Matching Gifts: Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage charitable giving among its employees. Check with your employer to see if they are a matching gift company, and use this to your advantage when asking fellow coworkers to support your efforts. Social Media: Post your fundraising or team page to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Adding a personal touch such as why you're participating in the BT5K increases the likelihood someone will donate to you. BT500: Raise $500 or more on your individual fundraising page and get a BT5K car magnet sent to you one month after the event.

Someone made a donation to my team page but I want it under my personal fundraising page. Can I move it? Yes. Email [email protected] with the donation details and we will move it for you.

A team member did not join my team when registering. Can I add them to my team? Yes. Email [email protected] with your team member’s name and your team name and we can add them to your team.

I never received an email to claim my account. Please check your spam, as well as other inboxes. You can also email us at [email protected] and we can get your account claimed for you.

I’m not receiving emails from the ABTA. This can happen if your email is incorrect in the system. Please reach out to us and we can update your email address on file.

Why doesn’t my lifetime fundraising show my actual funds raised? We transferred to a new fundraising system in 2019, so total fundraising will only reflect 2019 and onwards.
