We are One Family of Faith in Jesus Christ. We are the merged faith community of St. Martin of

Tours, founded in 1906, and Our Lady of Lourdes, found in 1872, both located in

Bushwick, Brooklyn.

We are rooted in God’s word and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church; we value and cele-

brate our diversity, faith, hope and love in the Lord Jesus. It is our belief that the Holy Spirit guides

us through the different moments of our parish life, and that the Blessed Mother of God assists us

in this journey of faith. We are committed to help each other strengthen our faith, communion and

participation through God’s Word, Holy Eucharist and Evangelization. In this way we answer the

call to discipleship in our parish life. We seek to become more

inclusive and vibrant. We want to keep organizing ourselves in a way that all people feel

welcomed, accepted and encouraged to share their gifts and talents.

Mass until 11:45 during classes at the School . On Weekdays will be at the Rectory Office: Mon. Tue. and Wed. From: 10:00am to 12:00 and 1:00pm to 2:00pm. First time registration, you must bring a copy of your child’s birth Certificate, Baptism Certificate and for

Adults as well. Registration for the second time, if you did not sub-mit the documents last year, you must do it now, Your child cannot receive the Sacrament of First Communion or Confirmation without those documents. For those children who received First Commun-

ion in May can register for the Followers of Jesus classes.

La lectura de hoy

nos presenta tres

ideas importantes:

El Adviento no es sola-

mente un tiempo litúrgi-

co de introspección en

anticipación de la cele-

bración de la Navidad

del Señor Jesús, con lo

importante que es eso.

Es también una espiritu-

alidad cristiana continua

que vive con esperanza

de la gran victoria de la

divina providencia en la creación y que se preocupa de crear

un mundo más justo y compasivo.

Vivir en expectativa del reino de Dios nos urge a vivir haci-

endo la voluntad de Dios. Durante los tiempos de felicidad

nos recuerda de que este todavía no es el Reino, y durante los

tiempos difíciles nos fortalece con la esperanza. “Venga a

nosotros Tu reino” es una oración de Adviento diaria. Como

cristianos hemos de vivir de tal manera que somos ambos

señales de “la vida del mundo futuro” y atender a las cues-

tiones de esta presente edad de tal manera de que ayudamos

al florecimiento de la auténtica humanidad.

A Godparent must be a practicing Catholic, at least eighteen years old,

and must have received the sacraments of Baptism, Communion & Con-
