Check out the new books outside the library! Our display features award-winning books and books donated in memory of Spencer Ervin and Sybil White, mother of Rita Cope. As you do your spring cleaning, don't forget the Laurel Library accepts gen-tly used books and DVDs. Items that do not fit the Lau-rel collection will be sold at McKay's for credit toward library materials.

International Ministry Needs American Talking Partners Wednesday Nights We need more American partners to help with the Conversational English program over the next several months. The many college students who help us will be leaving at the end of April. We are already about five people short of having enough partners, so we are asking for people who could simply talk with someone during the next few months. Anyone can participate; no special skills are required other than being able to converse in Eng-lish. Don't worry if you cannot be here each week. Substitute partners are always welcome.

If you want more information, come down on Wednesday night and see what is happening. You are welcome to sit in with someone and observe. You can also check out the church website, or ask any elder, minister, or long-time Laurel member. They can tell you about their experiences, or point you to someone who can.

Our International outreach program, sometimes called "FriendSpeak," meets downstairs in the gym every Wednesday night. Currently, we have about 50 International adults attending each week, along with a number of chil-dren. The adults participate in a one-on-one Conversational English program, or they attend one of the two ESL clas-ses. The children attend our regular children's Bible classes and ESL clas-ses. Some families attend our worship services.

This ministry gives us an opportunity to do exactly what Jesus told all his followers to do, namely, "Go and make disciples of all nations." The advantage of this ministry is that you only have to go to Laurel on Wednesday night. The prospective disciples are waiting there to meet you.

- In Him, Sherri Guyette and family

Thank you for the cards, prayers, and kind words during my mom's lengthy illness and after her passing. We are planning a private family service at the graveside where my dad was buried. My Mom was fond of St Jude's and supported them for many years, so, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name, Sharon Doyle, to St. Jude's Chil-dren's Hospital. - Dan Doyle and family

Thank you Laurel family for sending the beautiful floral arrangement to honor my Dad, John B. Waters, Jr. Your friendship, thoughtfulness and concern give us great comfort as our family mourns his death. Thanks again for your constant care and love.

- John B. Waters III and family

Enjoy some spiritual growth this spring!

Our spring read is a short classic A Shepherd Looks at the 23rd Psalm by W. Phillip Keller. Books are at the Welcome Station, one free per family.
