The biggest thing this week is the Installation Mass of our new Bishop Edward Burns. Yes, on Thursday, February 9th, our diocese will celebrate the arrival of Bishop Burns with a Mass at our Cathedral Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in downtown Dallas at 2:00 pm. Please pray for him as he begins to shepherd us all.
As a consequence of his arrival there will be some changes to our regular schedule of Masses and Confessions. On Wednesday, the 6:30 pm Mass will be cancelled since all the priests of the diocese will gather with Bishop Burns for Vespers and dinner. On Thursday, the 6:00 pm Confessions will be cancelled since we priests may not be able to return by 6:00 pm.
On Thursday, our ACTS retreat for Men in English will begin. Please pray for our men and Fr. Paul who will be on the retreat. If you have not yet registered, you may still be able to. Please go to www.stfrancisacts.com or access it through our website www.stfoafrisco.org
Saturday, Feb. 11 is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. On February 11, 1858 the Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette Soubirous, a 14-year old girl. There was the miraculous appearance of a spring, and many healings of the sick have been done in that sacred place then and even to our modern day. In honor of that, during our 8:30 am Mass on Saturday, we shall celebrate the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick for whose health has been compromised by serious disease or the process of aging.
Lo más importante de esta semana es la Misa de instalación de nuestro nuevo Obispo Edward Burns. Efectivamente, el jueves 9 de febrero, nuestra Diócesis celebrará la llegada del Obispo Burns con una Misa en la Catedral Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en el centro de Dallas a las 2:00 pm. Por favor oren por él y por su comienzo como pastor de todos nosotros.
Como consecuencia de su llegada habrá algunos cambios en nuestro horario regular de Misas y Confesiones esta
semana. El miércoles, la Misa de las 6:30 pm se cancelará ya que todos los Sacerdotes de la
Diócesis se reunirán con el Obispo Burns para celebrar las Vísperas y cenar con él. El jueves, las Confesiones de las 6:00 pm se cancelarán ya que los Sacerdotes no podremos regresar antes de las 6:00 pm.
El jueves, comenzará nuestro retiro de ACTS para Hombres en inglés. Por favor oren
por nuestros hombres y el P Paul quienes estarán en el retiro.
El sábado 11 de febrero es la fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes. El 11 de febrero de 1858 la Virgen María apareció a Bernadette Soubirous, una niña de 14 años. Hubo la milagrosa aparición de un manantial, y muchas sanaciones de los enfermos se han hecho en ese lugar sagrado desde entonces e incluso en la actualidad. En honor a eso, durante nuestra Misa en inglés de las 8:30 am del sábado, celebraremos el sacramento de la Unción del Enfermos cuya salud ha sido comprometida por una enfermedad grave o por el envejecimiento.

Instalación del Nuevo Obispo de Dallas 9 de febrero a las 2:00 pm en la Catedral Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe
El Obispo Burns será instalado Obispo de Dallas el 9 de febrero a las 2:00 pm en la Catedral Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, ubicada en el 2215 Ross Avenue en el centro de Dallas.
Debido a esta ceremonia y a otros eventos relacionados con la Instalación del nuevo Obispo, la Misa en inglés de las 6:30 pm del miércoles 8 de febrero y las Confesiones del jueves 9 de febrero en la Parroquia serán canceladas.

Attention all Current Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion It is a requirement of the Diocese of Dallas for all actively-serving Eucharistic Ministers to attend annual retraining and re-commissioning in order to be able to serve for another year. Opportunities for retraining will take place on Monday, February 6, from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm. Please enter the Church as you arrive as your training will coincide with training for new EM’s. New Bishop for the Diocese of Dallas Bishop Burns will be installed as the Bishop of Dallas on February 9th at 2:00 pm at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe located at 2215 Ross Avenue in downtown Dallas. Due to this ceremony and other related events, we will cancel the 6:30 pm Mass on Wednesday February 8th and the Confession on
Thursday, February 9th.
Little Friends of St. Francis PreschoolPreschool registration for the 2017 – 2018 school year opens for St. Francis parishioners on February 1st at 9:30 am and closes at 2:00 pm February 28th. Tours will be held on Thursday mornings at 10:00 am during the month of February; no appointment is needed. Children must be at least 2 years of age on September 1, 2017 to be considered for placement in our program.
