Exploring Renewable Energies, Sarah Pidgeon, K-12 Educator, Solar One; Solar One is a sustainability education organization based out of NYC. During this session, you will have the opportunity to experiment with small wind turbines and solar panels and learn how they work. Solar One Educators will also lead a discussion on energy efficiency, the smart grid, renewable energy advocacy, and community solar programs.

"Why Grow Food?:” Sustainable Agriculture, Sara Katz, Community Horticulturist, Bronx Green-Up at The New York Botanical Garden; The workshop will focus on understanding what sustainable agriculture is and how we can get involved here in our own communities, particularly in the urban context. We will do a hands-on seed starting activity, and participants will get to take home their seedlings to raise in a sunny window for the upcoming growing season.

11:00am III ICP Studio World Water Monitoring Challenge, Joshua Carrera, Board Member, Earth Echo International; Water is a central part of our everyday lives. Environmental Debate, Taylor Greene, Vice-President of Digital Media, Greening Forward, Karen Mejia, Outreach Manager, Greening Forward; Become a part of the environmental conversation, by practicing your debate and environmental literacy skills. Join a series of panelists in tackling a number of controversial environmental topics, including Dr. Sharon Jaye (Director of Sustainability at New York City Department of Education), Clayton Ferrara (Executive Director of the youth-led I.D.E.A.S. non-profit), staff from the New York Public Interest Research Group.

Climate Change, Maayan Cohen, Education & Leadership Manager, Alliance for Climate Education; Facilitated by ACE and Global Kids Climate Action Fellows, dive into the reality of climate change, and we must do to protect ourselves and the environment. The award-winning ACE assembly presentation will be delivered, followed by interactive activities.

11:55am III ICP Studio Combined Sewer Overflow & Effects on the Bronx River, Sam Marquand, Environmental Job Skills Program Director, Rocking the Boat; Located just a couple of blocks from the conference site, the Bronx River is plagued with issues concerning combined sewer overflow. Learn how Rocking the Boat measures and observes the issue (water-quality monitoring and pathogen monitoring), how this affects a community that is just rediscovering the Bronx River as a recreational hotspot, and how they are working to manage the issue and restore the river through green infrastructure, nutrient bioextraction, and other methods.

Digital tools, such as blogging and social media, allow young environmentalists to utilize an online ecosystem of changemakers. Learn about the best-practices in sustainability digital communication!

Identifying your Leadership Passion, Laura Rog, Director, Schools & Training, generationOn; Encourage youth leadership with generationOn! generationOn provides resources you need to ignite the power and potential of young people to become leaders and problem-solvers, successful students and active community members. This year at the International Young Environmentalists Youth Summit, generationOn will be presenting a new mini youth leadership workshop: Passi(t)On! Passi(t)On is meant to help youth start to identify their leadership in order to bring their passion to action within their own community.

Public Speaking Skills, Hasib Muhammad, Vice-President of Engagement, Greening Forward; Even if you don't need to make regular presentations in front of a group, there are plenty of situations where good public speaking skills can help you advance your career and create opportunities. Whether we're talking in a team meeting or presenting in front of an audience, we all have to speak in public from time to time. Hasib has delivered over 16 TEDx talks, and he's here to show you how you can strengthen your public speaking skills.

Campaign, Jatnna Ramirez, Kevin Murungi, and the Global Kids Climate Action Fellows; Global Kids students will present on the Human Rights Activist Project (HRAP) Climate Education Campaign. Last year high school students from all over the city created the Climate Education Campaign asking the Department of Education to mandate climate education in all public schools K-12. This year, in collaboration with the Alliance for Climate Education, HRAP will continue to work on this campaign. Thanks to the students' campaign and effort, Councilman Constantinides introduced a resolution last summer recommending the implementation of climate education. The students will present on the genesis of this student-led climate justice campaign, why its important, and will make a call to action to the audience to support this campaign.

Environmental Justice Tour; In very real terms, Hunts Point, the community of the 2015 IYEYS, forms a portrait of environmental injustices. The peninsula bears a disproportionate amount of the region's industrial infrastructure, with the majority of land zoned for heavy industrial use. Hunts Point has one of the highest concentrations of truck traffic in New York City. Already home to the largest produce market in the country, Hunts Point recently became the new location for the Fulton Fish Market, increasing daily truck traffic to upwards of 20,000 per day. There are over 15 waste transfer stations in the community as well as a number of waste related facilities such as the NYS Department of Environmental Protection's wastewater treatment facility. The Point staff will guide visitors through a walking tour around Hunts Point, discussing critical environmental justice hotspots, and what the center is

doing to protect people, planet, and the local economy.

Saving the World: 21st Century Sustainability Solutions for the Millennial Generation; Clayton Ferrara, Executive Director, IDEAS; Explore real world solutions being used by young people around the world in the IDEAS Movement to solve the energy, water, food, waste, and ecology crisis of our time. This interactive presentation will educate as much as it does entertain, leaving participants inspired and excited to take action in their communities and campuses.

Using Film to Tell Positive Environmental Stories; Graham Meriwether, Director and Producer, Leave It Better; As we all work together to heal our environment, it can be important to communicate the story of what we are doing through documentary video. That's the goal of Leave It Better — to tell powerful video stories of people working together to heal our environment. During our workshop, we'll show you some of the basics shots of filmmaking, talk about effective interview techniques, and start a brainstorming session about your ideas for environmental video content.

Grantwriting & Development, Hasib Muhammad, Vice-President of Engagement, Greening Forward; You could walk away from this grant session with a $500 mini-grant for a Global Youth Service Day or Earth Day project. Environmental projects are cool and engaging, but oftentimes the money comes up short. In this presentation on grantwriting and development, you learn ways to effectively better your grantwriting skills and maintain a better relationship with your potential funders. Leverage the power of your student group to show the world what young people can do.

Guided Yoga Exercises; Take a moment to breathe, and relax with guided yoga exercises and reflection activities.

Activism for Conservation, Emily Stoeth, Conservation Educator, Prospect Park Zoo, and Students from the Wildlife Conservation Society (WSC); WSC students who participated in an internship about social activism for conservation will help introduce what it means to be a conservation activist. Learn how you can raise awareness about a cause and what the most effective tactics are to get people to join the effort.

Reflection Exercises; Sam Good, Pleasant View, UT; Eunheh Koh, Atlanta, GA; Shannon Kollasch, Naperville, IL; The Greening Forward Youth Council will wrap-up 2015 IYEYS with multiple interactive games that target consumerism. These games will expose some of the goods and bads found amongst consumers in our modern society and will outline how we can make positive changes through the products we buy. After talking about environmental labeling, environmental impacts of packaging, and sustainable seafood, we will be making tote bags that participants can take with them as a reminder of what they have learned while at IYEYS.
