A Johnny Daniel Robinson / Sr. The heart of the Rams’ offense was named U.S. Lacrosse all-American and Virginia 6A North player of the year after another big season for the two-time defending state champions. G Casey DuBois Mount Hebron / Sr. Saved 73 percent of the shots he faced and allowed fewer than five goals per contest while leading the Vikings to the Maryland 3A/2A state title game for the first time in 10 years. F/O Nick McEvoy Gonzaga / Sr. The area’s most complete player on faceoffs finished with 37 goals, 21 assists, 201 groundballs and won 79 percent of his draws. Will play at Penn State. A Nicky Petkevich Bullis / Sr. Colgate recruit led the IAC champion Bulldogs with 65 goals using a quick release and a blazing shot. Won the Kelly Award, given annually to Maryland’s top player. After guiding Stone Bridge to the 5A state championship last spring, Mitchell led the Bulldogs through an undefeated run to a repeat region championship and a second consecutive state semifinal appearance. Bullis closed the season on a 19-game winning streak and captured the school’s first Interstate Athletic Conference title in boys’ lacrosse. Armed with precise footwork, sublime stick skills and preternatural vision, Trippi thrived despite being the main focus of opposing defenses. He finished with 56 goals and 50 assists facing one of the area’s toughest schedules and earned IAC player of the year honors. MF Avery Myers Gonzaga / Sr. The WCAC player of the year possessed unmatched athleticism and scored 49 goals while earning Under Armour all-American honors. Will play at Michigan. MF Griffin Brown Landon / Sr. All-IAC selection emerged as a force this spring, earning team MVP honors by scoring 41 goals and dishing out 23 assists. Will play at Colgate. D Ryan Finlay Gonzaga / Sr. Under Armour all- American was rarely beat guarding every team’s top attackman, no small feat given the Eagles’ rigorous national schedule. Will play at Brown. D John Railey Georgetown Prep / Sr. Used superior length to hold the best offensive players in the area to below average performances and finished with 59 groundballs. Will play at Loyola (Md.).
