HOW COULD THIS CANCER BE HAPPENING TO ME (OR MY FAMILY

MEMBER)? Often cancer takes a person by surprise. How could it be me? Yet 1 of 2

people will develop cancer in their lifetime. Cancer Companions can help a person explor-ing these concerns. It also helps strengthen a person's faith which might be sagging. On January 17th, 2017, Cancer Companions will begin weekly sessions for those who are currently experiencing cancer or who have experienced cancer in the past and/or their care givers. The sessions are on nine Tuesdays for about two hours each beginning at 6:30 pm. Please Call Tracy 301-741-0321 to register or for more information. Please join us in January if you or someone you love is experiencing cancer.

Volunteers who serve to the glory of God are what keep the church going! And the stronger the team of such volunteers, the more vigor-ous and healthy the Body of Christ will be!

“For as in one body we have many mem-bers, and not all the members have the same function, 5so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. 6We have gifts that differ accord-ing to the grace given to us: prophecy, in pro-portion to faith; 7ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; 8the exhorter, in exhorta-tion; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.” – Romans 12:4-8 (NRSV). As you make plans for this new year, 2017, please prayerfully consider serving in one or more of the roles above. And if you feel the Holy Spirit nudging you to step up to the plate and fill a role (or roles!), please be obedient

and do not hesitate to contact Zari Malsawma, Director of Worship Administration, at 301-776-7670 or [email protected], to let her know.

encouragement from the Word of God:

“Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the

Lord, because you know that in the Lord your labor is not in

vain.”
