“Closeness to the poor, the refugee, the immigrant, the sick, the exploit-ed, the elderly living alone, prisoners and all God’s other poor, will teach us a different way of resting, one which is more Christian and generous.” – Pope Francis During this National Migration Week, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Justice for Immigrants campaign is currently working on behalf of the Bishops, including our own Archbishop Thomas Wenski, to promote humane migration policies towards refugees and immigrants that reflect our Catholic values. Join the U.S. Catholic bishops in support of protecting immigrants and refugees by sending an electronic postcard to Washington, DC asking that lawmakers ensure humane treatment and reforms towards migrants and refugees. The postcards may be sent from Justice for Immigrants’ homepage at www.justiceforimmigrants.org More information about the Catholic bishops’ JFI campaign may also be found on the JFI website: at www.sharejourney.org.
2018 Archbishop’s Charity and Development Drive Begins
In this new year as you reflect on the many blessings the Lord has given you in our lives, we are reminded that everything we have is a gift from God. The 2018 Archbishop’s Charity and Development Drive, the ABCD, will be held on the weekend of January 27th & 28th. Every year, ABCD is our opportunity to unite together as one Catholic family, to answer Jesus’ call to help our brothers and sisters in their time of need. In the next couple of weeks, please take the time to prayerfully reflect on the gifts that you have been given by God and respond to the ABCD as generously as you possibly can. You are the answer to someone’s prayers. You will be receiving a letter from Archbishop Wenski about the ABCD. Please read it and prayerfully consid-er supporting the ABCD in this year’s appeal. The good works that ABCD makes possible are a testimony to our faith, a faith that is very much alive and a part of each one of us. Let us unite to be One in Faith, One in Hope, One in Charity.

Pastors of all churches in Miami Spings meet periodically. Family life is one of their concerns, and in one of their meetings they discussed bringing this event to our community. Grace Lutheran has graciously accepted to host it at their Church.
