NEW DELHI, Jan 17:The Income Tax department

has set up a toll-free control roomfor the general public to alert itabout any suspicious movementof “large sums of cash” in thenational capital in the run up tothe Assembly polls.

The investigation wing ofthe department has set up a con-trol room and complaint moni-toring cell at its office here onthe instructions of the ElectionCommission (EC) which wantsto curb the use of black moneyand illegal inducements in thepoll process.

The toll-free number—1800110132— will be moni-tored round-the-clock and willbe supervised by a senior officerin the rank of Joint Director(IT), a senior official said.(PTI)
