PRAYER of CONFESSION Leader: I said I will confess my transgressions to the Lord. People: And you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Leader: Let us pray. All: Lord, we confess to you in the presence of our sisters

and brothers that we have sinned. You came to be with us, and we have hidden our faces from you. You came to lead us on a humble path, and we have taken a proud way. Today’s Music: GPC Choir member Katherine Riddle is the vocal soloist this morning, while the choir enjoys a well-deserved break. The anthem, “In the Bleak Midwinter” is a Christmas carol by Harold Darke based on a poem by the English poet Christina Rossetti. Harold Darke’s anthem setting of 1911 was named the best Christmas carol in a poll of some of the world’s leading choirmasters and choral experts taken in 2008.

Christian Ed in January: Adults and Children will look at the powerful and oft-misunderstood character of Mary, the Mother of Jesus as part of our Grace in Four Movements series. Sundays, in January, 9:45am.

This Christmas season, GPC will be furnishing an apartment for a refugee family who will soon be arriving in our area. Please consider a donation to this effort with gently used apartment furnishings such as lamps, tables, chairs, new mattresses, and the like. Children are always welcome!

▪ If you need to step out, there is a room near the front doors with resources for small children and a television that shows the service. For older children, there are purple bags near the front doors with coloring supplies.

▪ For our youngest children through 2 years old, childcare is available upstairs beginning at 9:30am.

▪ After the Time with Children in the service, children can remain with their families, or exit the Sanctuary with one of the pastors to continue age-appropriate worship. Please feel free to escort your children to their classroom to meet the leaders. More information is available in the Order of Worship.

▪ Hymns can be found in the purple hymnals. Bibles are located at the end of the pews. Large print hymnals are available in the back of the sanctuary.
