MINISTRY OF MUSIC CHOIR ONLY“Walk Together, Children” Spiritual, arr. Hogan ... Chamber ChoirWalk together children, don’ you get weary. Walk together children, don’t you get weary. Oh, talk together children, don’t you get weary. There’s a great camp meeting in the promised land. Sing together children, don’ you get weary. Sing together children, don’t you get weary. Oh, shout together children, don’t you get weary. There’s a great camp meeting in the promised land. Going to mourn and never tire, mourn and never tire, mourn and never tire. There’s a great camp meeting in the Promised Land.

SCRIPTURE Ezekiel 3:2-21 ... Galen Richardson

So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. He said to me, Mortal, eat this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it. Then I ate it; and in my mouth it was as sweet as honey. He said to me: Mortal, go to the house of Israel and speak my very words to them. For you are not sent to a people of obscure speech and difficult language, but to the house of Israel— not to many peoples of obscure speech and difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, if I sent you to them, they would listen to you. But the house of Israel will not listen to you, for they are not willing to listen to me; because all the house of Israel have a hard forehead and a stubborn heart. See, I have made your face hard against their faces, and your forehead hard against their foreheads. Like the hardest stone, harder than flint, I have made your forehead; do not fear them or be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house. He said to me: Mortal, all my words that I shall speak to you receive in your heart and hear with your ears; then go to the exiles, to your people, and speak to them. Say to them, “Thus says the Lord God”; whether they hear or refuse to hear. Then the spirit lifted me up, and as the glory of the Lord rose from its place, I heard behind me the sound of loud rumbling; it was the sound of the wings of the living creatures brushing against one another, and the sound of the wheels beside them, that sounded like a loud rumbling. The spirit lifted me up and bore me away; I went in bitterness in the heat of my spirit, the hand of the Lord being strong upon me. I came to the exiles at Tel-abib, who lived by the river Chebar. And I sat there among them, stunned, for seven days. At the end of seven days, the word of the Lord came to me: Mortal, I have made you a sentinel for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. If I say to the wicked, “You shall surely die,” and you give them no warning, or speak to warn the wicked from their wicked way, in order to save their life, those wicked persons shall die for their iniquity; but their blood I will require at your hand. But if you warn the wicked, and they do not turn from their wickedness, or from their wicked way, they shall die for their iniquity; but you will have saved your life. Again, if the righteous turn from their righteousness and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before them, they shall die; because you have not warned them, they shall die for their sin, and their righteous deeds that they have done shall not be remembered; but their blood I will require at your hand. If, however, you warn the righteous not to sin, and they do not sin, they shall surely live, because they took warning; and you will have saved your life.

PARENTS’ LOUNGEHi parents. We’re so glad you and your family are worshipping with us this morning. For your convenience, we have a staffed nursery upstairs so that you can have an hour to yourself to worship. We know that young children would sometimes rather stay with their parents, and that’s perfectly fine too. We also have a TV set up in our second floor Reception Room with room for restless legs to run around and comfortable sofas for you to sit on with your crying/nursing/tired little ones while you listen to the sermon and watch the service via livestream. Please speak with one of the ushers for more information.

Please join us for coffee at 10:15 a.m. in the Allan Beattie Room.

New or just visiting our church this morning? Be sure to grab a yellow “Welcome” mug for your tea or coffee.

PASTORAL CARE AT TEMCPersonal Counselling Support (one to one)Rev. Chris Miller’s extensive experience in congregational ministry and hospital chaplaincy enables him to provide prayerful, caring support to members and those close to them who are experiencing the familiar trials and changing circumstances of life such as illness, incapacitation, unemployment, parenting concerns, retirement, aging, divorce and bereavement. He listens with understanding and not evaluation or judgment. Chris can be contacted at 416-925-8494 ext. 247 and [email protected]

Grief Group Support (Companions Together)When we suffer deep emotional loss, we experience an often exhausting inner pain we call grief. It is difficult to find the healing we need from emotional wounds while grieving alone, especially over the loss of a loved one. But we do not have to go through the grieving process by ourselves. We can reach out to God, who compassionately understands our human pain and suffering because of Jesus Christ, and seek God’s healing for us. We can also find comfort and strength by connecting with others in similar circumstances. Therefore, we are looking to establish small (6-8), caring and confidential groups of people who will support one another through this difficult time in their lives. No one can remove another’s pain, but we can walk beside and support one another in our sorrow. If being in such a group interests you, please contact The Rev. Chris Miller.

SPIRIT EXPRESSThe teens of Spirit Express are working hard on this years production, Leap of Faith. We are always looking for more volunteers. If you have an interest in building sets, helping with costumes, or ticket/concession sales please contact: [email protected].

    LISTENING IN PRAYER

Does God still speak today?Does God have anything to say to you?Can you have a deeper understanding of God in your life?

These are some of the most important questions a Christian can explore, and the answers can make a big difference in your life.

At TEMC we are offering the Hearing God Seminar on listening prayer, which will help you enhance your prayer life, and connect with God at a deeper level.

The Hearing God Seminar will start Wednesday, May 1 and run for six weeks on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm.

Please register online at www.temc.ca/christian-dev. The course and workbook are free, but your registration will help us to know how many workbooks are needed.
