From our Interim Pastor
It is time for Presentation Parish to hold its annual Spring Festival. The
Festival is the single largest parish event held on the church campus. It is an
important fund raiser and community builder which I am told draws people
not only from our parish but the surrounding community.
This coming weekend, May 3 & 4, I will get to experience my first Spring
Festival at Presentation and from the stories I have heard it is no secret that
what makes this Spring Festival such a successful event for our parish is the
great number of people who attend the scheduled events and also the large
number of volunteers who offer their gift of time and talent.
Thank you for bringing your friends and neighbors to our Spring Festival. I
look forward to greeting you as I flip burgers, say hello as you pass by, and I
may surprise you by announcing at bingo!
May the glory of the risen Christ fill our hearts with much joy, peace and hope!
May his blessings be upon us, our loved ones and all peoples. May the reality
of Easter confidently remind us that all who live in love will always live in
spring!
Fr. Benny
Holy Family Church, India (Fr. Benny’s Home Parish)
I am pleased to inform you that I am finally
able to take a break and go to visit my mom
and siblings in India. I hear that some of you
are wondering if it is alright to give me a gift
for my trip. I personally don’t prefer to
receive any. On the other hand, my home
parish in India where I was ordained 10
years ago, is in need of some financial
support as they are building a new church.
My pastor has been continuously asking for
any help. So if you would like to give a gift, I would gratefully appreciate if you
can make it in favor of Holy Family Church, my home parish.
Please make gifts payable to: Presentation Church. In the memo line include:
Holy Family Church, India.
Thank you to those who have donated toward the Easter Environment-and-in
memory of their loved ones listed below:

Congratulations and the blessings of the Risen Jesus to each of them.
Blessings also and thanks to Father Benny, the parents, and the catechists—
Marco Buchmayer, Ms. Jodie Keely, and Ms. Denise Legato—all of whom
walked with them during their preparation for their second Sacrament of
Initiation, the Eucharist.
Best wishes to all our parishioners for a very blessed season of NEW LIFE
during which our faith may be deepened as we celebrate the Easter liturgies.

Stewardship
Jesus meets the
need of each
disciple. To the
fearful in the upper
room, He speaks
words of peace. To doubting Thomas,
He provides the tangible proof of His
resurrection. What do I need to
become His disciple? What do I have
to share that might meet someone
else’s need?
Pastoral Care
GAMBLERS ANONYMOUS meets
Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm in the
Parish Center lower level. For more
information, please call Colleen at
651-295-9853.
Social Concerns
Justice: When Pope Francis asks, “Who weeps for lost immigrant workers?”
he confronts the fear of the stranger that undermines immigration reform.
He challenges the false moralizing of the extremes, and says that abortion is
part of our “throwaway culture”.
When political leaders cut $40 billion from food stamps, they are not friends
of Pope Francis for he says that we must be among the poor, include them,
and practice and preach PEACE and CHARITY.
Charity: A very special thanks and Easter blessings to the children in our
Faith Formation Program and our school who donated several hundred
dollars toward feeding those who hunger. Also to 4 “out-of-town” Daisy 7
year old Girl Scouts who donated food, clothing, and toys for persons in
need. What awesome contributions those children have made. May the
Risen Jesus bless them generously.
Today’s readings remind us of all the sharing which transpired among the
first Christians. Reflecting on that, we might find ourselves living more simply
so others can simply live.
Thank You

Parish Council
Representation
The role of the Parish Council, by way
of its members, is to advise the
Pastor regarding pastoral matters
within the life of the parish. As such,
stability and continuity take elevated
roles during times of transition in
pastoral leadership. Consequently,
and at the recommendation of the
current Parish Council and staff of
Presentation, Fr Benny has accepted
the renewal of terms for the
members whose terms were due to
expire this fiscal year.
The 2014 Boy Scout Troop 461 Palm
Sunday Pancake Breakfast was an
overwhelming success. It was our
pleasure to serve just over 400 this
year, the majority being parishioners
of Presentation. Proceeds from the
event help scouts pay for summer
camp, purchase camping equipment,
and go on high adventure trips.
Thanks for your continued support of
all the Scouting programs at
Presentation.

I always remember this quote at the end of the school year. I
look at the kids and see how much they have grown. I hope I
have taught them as much as they have taught me. Wishing
you all have a creative summer. If you need some ideas

if you have some spare ones you could donate them. They
need to hold up to the heat of a clothes dryer. Blankets can
be dropped off at the shelter at 2001 Van Dyke or at the par-
