Introduction

Sun Buggy Fun Rentals provides the ultimate memorable off road experience. We have adventures ranging from a casual ride through a beautiful protected state park at the Valley of Fire, to a high speed romp through technical and challenging terrain at the Nellis dunes, to a day on the biggest dunes in North America at Amargosa. We've been building our own design dune buggies for years and through much refinement and constant 365 days a year use our design has become very refined and very dialed in for the type of terrain you'll be traversing.

Our buggies provide an exciting yet safe alternative to riding 4-wheelers as each Buggy is equipped with 4-point racing style seat belts as well as a reinforced full roll cage. You cannot “fall off” of our buggies. These vehicles are low to the ground and very stable which makes for a thrilling ride as you can really push the limits in relative safety.

Custom Fabricated Off Road MachinesAt Sun Buggy we build our own vehicles. These are tubular steel frames bent and welded together here in our 12,000 square foot fabrication facility located at the world famous Las Vegas Motor Speedway. We design these mean machines for optimal performance in the rugged terrain of the high desert surrounding Las Vegas. While they are built to be nimble, high performance off road machines, they're also sturdy and very stable. We make them light, low to the ground and with a horsepower to weight ratio that is optimal for high desert terrain.

Once the frames are welded together we add a suspension that we design specifically for the buggy it's going to be on. It's an independent four wheel suspension with just enough travel to absorb shocks from the rocky terrain yet still remain responsive and highly maneuverable. On the front are an upper and lower wishbone setup with high performance coil over gas shocks. The rear uses the famously strong yet lightweight off road setup, the classic swing-arm, also with high performance coil over gas shocks. Our Dunies drive these everyday, all day long, and provide constant feedback that helps

us get these vehicles setup just right for your adventure.

After the suspension, we add the motor. These are air and oil cooled V-twin engines that are light, but powerful. Finally the disc brakes, bucket seats, racing style harnesses, and steering are installed and it's ready for a test drive. We typically build 1 and 2 seat buggies, however for families or larger groups we also have 4 and 5 seat buggies, and are currently adding new 6 seat buggies to our fleet!

Sun Buggy desert racers feature a specially designed Continuously Variable Transmission which means you're always in the right gear! Because of the stable design, light weight and special high performance drive system, Sun Buggy Desert Racers are easy to drive with only gas, brake, and steering just like your automatic car. Because these vehicles are expert at taming this type of terrain, you don't need to be an expert to enjoy the rush of Baja-Racing style off road racing.

The Mini-Baja 30Go out on of our desert racers for a taste of the Baja style

desert racing! Nellis Dunes recreational area is 15,000 awesome acres of varied desert terrain right on the edge of Las Vegas only 20 minutes from the strip. During your adventure you will traverse some of the most radical terrain anywhere with a wild mixture of dunes, gravel, hard pack, hills, valleys, washed out creek beds, and trails running in every direction. This area is very technical and challenging with lots of tight and twisty trails. This same radical terrain is used by several off-road racing organizations such as SNORE, SCORE, MRAN, and Best in the Desert.

Starting at just $99 for a ride with a Dunie, this is our entry level tour. One of our Dunies will take you on a 30 minute blast through and around the Nellis Dunes Mini-Baja Course. The fastest seat in our fleet is sitting next to one of our Dunies who run this area in these vehicles full time! It is fast-paced, thrilling, yet less demanding because instead of working the controls all you have to do is HANG ON! You can also chase our Dunies in your own buggy, and with small group sizes your adventure will move at a pace that you're comfortable with, be it casual or all out, Baja racing style!

You will be required to wear a full face helmet and a 4-point harness at all times on the course. Our custom buggies are expert at taming this type of terrain so you don't have to be. The racers are automatic so it's just go, stop, aim, and scream!

The Mini-Baja 90By far our most popular Adventure in the Las Vegas area is

the Nellis Dunes Mini-Baja. Like the Mini-Baja 30 this is a thrill ride, but this is a full on 90 minute rush, enough time to really get the hang of tearing through the desert. Having a longer ride really gives you the time to "get up to speed" as the Mini-Baja tends to move progressively faster as our clients become more familiar with the nimble personalities of our desert racers. Nellis Dunes is 15,000 awesome acres of varied desert terrain right on the edge of Las Vegas only 20 minutes from the strip consisting of dunes, gravel, hard pack, hills, valleys, washed out creek beds, and trails running every direction. This area is very technical and challenging with lots

of tight and twisty trails. On occasion, the same area is used by several off-road racing organizations such as SNORE, SCORE, MRAN, and Best in the Desert.

The full 90 Minute Mini-Baja is fast-paced and not tailored for the weak at heart. During your adventure you will travel somewhere between 20 and 35 miles over what is described as very aggressive and challenging terrain. This is not a roller coaster ride-if you aim at the big rocks you will probably hit them. You are required to wear a full face helmet and a 4-point harness at all times on the

course. Typically 1 and 2 seat buggies are best suited for the Mini-Baja, however we do have larger Buggies available for families to bring the kids. While our custom buggies are expert at taming this type of terrain you need not be as they're easy to drive with only gas, brake, and steering just like your automatic car.

This is not a slow paced sightseeing tour. Your job will be to chase one of our expert Dunies and the only thing that will slow our Dunie down is if he's waiting for you to catch up. Come take a ride that you won't soon forget!!!

The Nellis Dunes TourIf you'd like to get out on the Dunes, but don't secretly fantasize about

racing in the Baja 1000, The Nellis Dunes tour just your speed. Our playground on the edge of Las Vegas,The Nellis Dunes, is 15,000 acres of varied terrain allowing us to cater to your desired desert driving experience. With all that space to roam, this adventure was created for those wishing to run on the smoother trails and sand dunes. The Nellis Dunes Tour is taken at a leisurely pace, staying mostly in the sand. With this softer more forgiving terrain you're able to get out in the wilderness in relative comfort. Our Custom built desert racers have low unsprung weight which not only

translates into great handling, but also means that you're driving one of the smoothest riding off road vehicles available. This tour is great if you are not sure about the faster more aggressive driving of the Mini Baja.

While you can have your own buggy, we generally bring 2, 4, 5 and 6 seat buggies on this tour (this tour Great for families with small kids!). While our custom buggies are expert at taming this type of terrain you need not be as they're easy to drive with only gas, brake, and steering just like your automatic car.

Nellis Dunes is right on the edge of town and allows you to get out and see some desert without making a whole day excursion out of it. So if you're not the thrill seeking, adrenaline junkie, jump out of a plane type of person, ask for the Dunes Tour and take a smooth ride on the sand dunes in view of the Las Vegas Strip. Amargosa (Big Dune)Aptly named, these dunes exceed 500 feet in height and are

absolutely breathtaking in their immensity. This site is 2 hours from the Strip and comes in custom pre-booked excursion form. Like all our adventures we provide a free shuttle from your hotel and back and because this is a whole day excursion, we will feed you lunch

and as always we keep you hydrated with plenty of complimentary icy cold

bottled water.

Amargosa Means 'Big Dune' and they are so steep and so tall that you're not likely to get to the top of many of the larger dunes here, but we know you'll have fun trying. These are the tallest dunes in North America! One of the best parts are the huge 'bowls' formed between the large dunes that you can zip around in racing towards the bottom only to race back up the other side, turn around and repeat.

This is a free roaming adventure where we'll show you how to drive the buggies, how to properly navigate over

the sand razorbacks, and show you around the area at which point you just go for it and explore all on your own. Our staff stays on site and is there to assist whenever needed and to make sure you're having a safe adventure. If the 2 hour shuttle ride from Las Vegas seems too long ask about arranging a helicopter to whisk you up to Amargosa from the Las Vegas airport on the south end of the strip, we can make that happen for you for an additional fee. You can also arrange for a 24-hour tour where you rent a motor home which we pick up and provision for you. The camp fire and smores are included!

The Valley Of FireThe area you'll be riding in has been featured by

numerous magazines as one of the top off-road riding areas in the United States. This wonder of nature can only be described as breathtaking. While you will occasionally encounter Big Horn sheep and other wildlife, the Valley of Fire is world renowned for its beautiful rock formations and red sand (it really is red, not bright brown and this picture doesn't really do it justice.) If you are a trekkie you will recognize many of the early Star Trek sets.

Both the State of Nevada and the BLM are very protective of the fragile environment and the delicate ecosystem. It is a common misconception that the desert is indestructible. This is far from the case and the governing authorities want you to have an enjoyable tour, however there is a distinct need to tread lightly and observe the posted speed limits and no access zones. We at Sun Buggy take great pride in being the only approved dune buggy rental operation and fully support the tread lightly program.

This is definitely the place to see if you want to take photos. This area offers an unparalleled spectrum of beauty and is truly a wonder of nature. The Mini-Dakar

The Dakar Rally is known world wide as the most diverse, off-road event that exists. It combines breath-taking scenery with very technical terrain. Here at Sun Buggy, we have the ultimate Vegas/Sun Buggy adventure.

Our event starts with you being picked up at the resort of your choosing by one of our staff members and then are shuttled to our state-of-the-art facility. From our Facility, you'll be transported to the first leg of your adventure at the world-famous Valley of Fire, aptly named because of the red rock formations and sand cliffs. You will spend approximately 2 ½ hours on a rugged Suzuki Eiger 4x4 ATV, taking in what is quite possibly the most pristine, beautiful, landscape available to off road motorized traffic in the USA.

The beauty of this area is quite simply indescribable and photos do not do this destination justice. The terrain is so alien that numerous production companies have filmed segments without having to perform modifications to the terrain. Star Trek was originally filmed here.

After completing the first leg of your journey you will take a 40 minute transport break while you eat the box lunch that we will provide for you, as well as the complimentary beverages.

After lunch you'll arrive at the Nellis Dunes for the second leg of your adventure. This course you will be traveling on what was recently featured in the ROLLING STONE Magazine and referred to as “LAS VEGAS’ BEST NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE.” You will go on a full 2 hour run. Doesn't sound challenging? We’ll see what you say afterwards. You will be operating a state-of-the-art vehicle which is a cross between a Desert racer and a Dune buggy on a 35 mile course that will subject you to dried out river beds,

sheer cliffs, a place called rattle snake rocks (guess why), and look out dune, a vantage point where you take a brief break and can see Lake Mead and the Las Vegas Strip on the horizon.

We thought that was going to be the highlight of our trip however, as great as that was, the Buggy excursion we had with your company was phenomenal. From the minute the driver arrived to the time we were dropped back off at our hotel, we were treated as professionally as one could ever expect. You provided transportation to us even though we were 20 miles from your facility. Once we arrived there, the staff were professional and personable. We were offered lunch as well. After the brief but informative orientation, we were taken out to the area and met by additional staff who were just as courteous as everyone else we had encountered previously that day. I believe our guides name was Dustin, and if I am mistaken on his name I apologize however, names were not what we remembered from that afternoon. It was the sheer enjoyment and excitement that we experienced that we remember. What a blast. While safety was the main concern of your staff and specifically your guide, they took the time to make sure we would enjoy our day while keeping ourselves in one piece. It was the total package for entertainment and an adrenalin rush of serious magnitude. It can't be explained, it has to be experienced.

On another note, as a business, I must tell you that it was enlightening to see each piece of the puzzle come together as cohesively as it did. It takes skill and dedication of all team members to pull together as they did, without any delays to speak of and without any customer complaints whatsoever. Well done!!!

Sun Buggy Fun Rentals is in a unique position to cater to larger groups due to a huge fleet of custom fabricated desert racers unlike anything you'll find anywhere else. Our large fleet of buggies (over 100 seats and growing) means more seat time for your clients, means more fun for your clients.

Do the math, if you take a group of 100 people to a driving adventure with 10 seats available, at any given point 90% of your clients are waiting for their turn. With our large fleet of buggies we frequently have so many buggies on site during events that some tend to sit unused while clients take a break from driving.

Our unique team building event has your client holding their own timed lap event where each participant is involved in the actual running of a track. From corner judges, to timing, to waving the checkered flag, teams are required to self organize and then shift positions to ensure each member gets their chance to show their driving skills on the course. Of course, Sun Buggy staff members are always right there to ensure safety protocols are being followed. Sun Buggy Fun Rentals can cater to your taste and budget with various options to keep your costs reasonable while still providing a memorable experience. On the other end of the spectrum, the sky's the limit, if Las Vegas can provide it, we can likely have it arranged for you. While most of our Group events are held at the Nellis Dunes 15,000 acre area, due to it's close proximity to the Las Vegas strip (only 18 miles away), we can hold events at other locations because of our ability to transport buggies to your destination of choice.

A favorite option for groups and especially corporate events is our ability to put your logo on a few buggies, which makes for great pictures to hang in the office. Beyond your logo on the buggies, we commonly provide custom event T-shirts for participants to take away with them, which makes for a perfect souvenir. We can convert the MotorCross Track into a BuggyCross track for your large group event. Our technicians setup the desert racers differently to take advantage of the tight course and provide maximum thrills! Typically only available for groups of more than 100 people:

The Road CourseSun Buggy Fun rentals can secure the Road course at the las Vegas Motor Speedway complex for your event. Typically for groups of 100 or more, like the BuggyCross above, our technicians setup the desert racers completely different for this venue to give the feel of a mid engine indy car! Gearing ratios, suspension, tires, and wheels are all dialed in to let you drift the curves like a pro!

Both the BuggyCross and the Road course are located at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Complex only 15 minutes from the strip, and only 2 miles from our 15,000 acre desert playground! With our large staff of professionals and huge fleet of buggies, Larger groups can have all three options running simultaneously!
