ABOUT SYBSMISSIONThe mission of SYBS is to promote baseball and softball in a safe, fun, and affordable environment for boys and girls in Summit and Park Counties ages 4-14.

GOALS• Kids stay safe, have fun, and learn something about the great game of baseball/softball.

• Lead kids to a lifetime of fun playing, learning, and watching this game. • Better develop players to support our local high school and American Legion teams. 

• Organize camps/clinics throughout the year.• Utilize our great indoor facility in Dillon (The Summit Baseball Academy)

BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL IN SUMMIT COUNTYThere are 3 distinct organizations promoting baseball in Summit – SYBS, Summit Extreme, and American Legion.  While we are distinct, we do work together and our hope is to compliment, rather than compete with each other. SYBS is the recreational league that plays locally and the season runs from late-May through mid-July. Summit Extreme offers kids who want to play more baseball that opportunity.  Extreme offers 2 seasons: a competitive, try-out only, league that runs from January through July, and a non-tryout, less competitive ‘Fall Ball’ league that runs from August through mid-October.  Travel is required for Extreme games. American Legion offers high school aged boys who want to play more baseball after the high school season ends, an opportunity to play in the summer.  Legion is also a booster club for the high school team.

The details of the softball program are still being finalized.  Typically, girls’ softball starts at the age of 11.  Prior to 11, girls can play T-ball, Machine Pitch, and Minors baseball.

Summit County Youth Baseball & Softball is an organization that serves approximately 400 boys and girls within Summit, Park, and Lake Counties. We need your assistance in keeping costs down so that any and all youngsters interested in playing can do so. SUMMIT BASEBALL FACILITY SPONSORSHIPSummit County finally has a year round baseball focused facility to help our athletes compete at the next level. Located in the La Riva Del Lago Mall, the Summit Baseball Academy boasts five batting cages, a separate pitching area, and a cadre of teachers and coaches to assist players of all ages and abilities improve. SYBS is proud to be a part of this exciting addition to our community, but we need your help to cover overhead expenses and future improvements.

ALTERNATIVE SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIESThroughout the year SYBS has other chances for you or your business to contribute to the development of youth baseball in Summit County. If you have the time, please consider a volunteer position coaching these athletes. We promise it will be as rewarding for you as it is for the kids. Additionally, if you or your business would rather donate goods than funds, SYBS is accepting donations for our annual Summit Baseball dinner and silent auction held each fall. Silent auction items may include gift certificates, event tickets, retail items, or whatever goods or services your business provides. SYBS also puts together a coupon book which our players distribute throughout the community each spring/summer, and co-sponsors the community Memorial day golf tournament. 100% of the money raised via this auction goes right back into making Summit Baseball a better program.
