Overview Lately, parliamentarians – in light of recent political, economic, environmental, and technological changes – have been presented with an array of challenges. The Global Summit for Women Speakers of Parliament offers a unique opportunity for dialogue, and producing actionable solutions for the world’s most pressing issues.

The Global Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament will be held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood,

”Mother of the Nation”. The event, which will take place at the Emirates Palace Hotel, on 12 -13 December 2016, raises the slogan of:“United For Shaping the future”.

Some 50 female speakers of parliament will take part in this unprecedented event, together with a gathering of government leaders, scientists and private sector leaders and youth from all over the world. The summit is the largest ever assembly of female speakers of parliament. It aims to launch a global

dialogue to shape parliamentary agendas to address the rapidly emerging political, economic, environmental and social changes that affect global security, prosperity and sustainability, and that require a united global governance response.

Organising partners The “Global Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament” is being organised by the Federal National Council in co-operation with the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The mosque is an architectural masterpiece, and one of the largest mosques in the world, with a capacity of about forty thousand worshippers.

The idea to establish the mosque was a cherished dream of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan ”may God rest his soul”, who drew up the overall vision of the mosque. At last the dream came true after many years.

Standout features of the mosque’s design are its pure white marble cladding, as well as the Quranic inscriptions and Islamic decorations on the walls that reflect the unique character of the mosque and lend it its attractive visual aesthetic.
