Stats • WHY?
Discovery? E? Local Holdings?
Is this really a bad thing? If not should we be measuring something else?
ROTAThe objective of the Rota is to balance the number of requests each library patron places with the number of loans the library ships.
ROTAThe ideal load leveling mechanism for the Alliance ensures a one-to-one ratio and allows libraries to achieve a predictable workload.
ROTA- BAD ROTA
For the first ten months Navigator, the Alliance libraries were divided into two separate groups and then were ranked within their group - then every week flipped in the order of preference.
ROTA- BAD ROTA
Then we combined into a single Rota and the ratios were calculated every two weeks.
ROTA- BAD ROTA
Then Monthly, Then DAILY!
ROTA- Current ROTA
Now I manually set it. Starting in FY 12.»No Swings»Plan ahead»Changed twice a year
ROTA- Current ROTAFY12• 5 libraries had a below .59 ratio• 7 libraries had over a 1.59 ratio• 3 libraries had over a 2.00 ratio• 59% of the libraries were within Ratio
(1.59-0.50)
ROTA- Current ROTAFY12• 5 libraries had a below .59 ratio• 7 libraries had over a 1.59 ratio• 1 libraries had over a 2.00 ratio• 65% of the libraries were within Ratio
(1.59-0.50)
ROTA- Current ROTAFY12 + FY13• 4 libraries had a below .59 ratio• 6 libraries had over a 1.59 ratio• 0 libraries had over a 2.00 ratio• 72% of the libraries were within Ratio
(1.59-0.50)
ROTAI try not to mess with the libraries that have a ratio between 1.59-0.50.
We have made a rule that a library cannot move more than 3 positions Up or Down
ROTAGood Ratio FY13

ROTA• We want the work, please do not move us?
– They lend more than they borrow
• Please do not move us we are to busy?– They borrower more than they lend
ROTA
Can I move a library more that 3 positions?
