The Summit At Saratoga 1 Perry Road Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 518-430-2136www.summitsaratoga.com
What a fabulous summer! Well, the racetrack season may have ended, but now our city is alive with fall festivities and events. We still have many beautiful, sunny days left to enjoy the
outdoors and the start of spectacular fall foliage. We are pleased to share some exciting September programs with you!
Join us in thanking our local fi re, police and emergency responders on 9/11 for all they do for our community every day. Drop off a baked treat for them in the morning and then we will deliver them together. And, last but not least, hop on the motor coach for a cruise of Saratoga Lake, Bill’s Mini Golf, lunch at Catherine’s in the Park or The Boathouse in Lake George.
“Active Aging Week” is September 22 - 29 - Initiated in 2003 by the International Council on Active Aging® (ICAA), this weeklong campaign calls attention to and celebrates the positivity of aging today. It showcases the capabilities of older adults as fully participating members of society. All Summit Communities will have many presentations scheduled all month that focus on keeping the mind and body healthy and active as we age.
Thursday, September 12 at 1:30pm - The Erie Canal Tour Like Never Before
Monday, September 16 at 11:00am - Overview of Immunizations for Seniors
Wednesday, September 18 at 11:00am - Pollinator Gardening by Cornell Cooperative Extension
Monday, September 23 at 2:00pm - Benefi ts of Senior Exercise
Wednesday, September 25 at 1:00pm - Gangsters of Saratoga by Greg Veitch
We hope to see you there!!
Warm regards,
Patriot DayCalling all Bakers
In honor of September 11, 2001, we will be delivering homemade baked goods to our local responders. The Fire Department, the Police Department and the Wilton Emergency Squad are always there for us and we want to show them that their service to us is always appreciated.
Please sign up in the Great Room if you would like to bake or join us to deliver on September 11 at 11:30am.

Join retired Saratoga Springs Police Chief and author Gregory Veitch as he shares stories from his book entitled “All the Law in the World Won’t Stop Them” and soon to be released second book, “A Gangster’s Paradise: Saratoga Springs from Prohibition to Kefauver.”
Stories of missing evidence, gambling raids, murders, organized crime fi gures and fi xed horse races are all part of the narrative of the gamblers and gangsters at Saratoga. These true stories paint a picture of Saratoga Springs that is a far cry from the clean, safe tourist resort that we know today!
