Didier Seguier and his team have managed to follow up their amazing 2006s with an equally remarkable collection of 2007s (though he insists that 6 to 9 months after bottling – when I tasted them – “is the worst time 

for expressing the purity of fruit”!). Harvesting here began early, on September 6 – the earliest start on record save for 2003 – but without feeling any compunction about taking one’s time, Seguier emphasized. Even so, 

the task was completed in 11 days, harvesting fruit of impeccable ripeness and harmonious though prominent acidity at a time when many growers were wise not to have begun yet. Without question, the rigorous 

sorting that all of the grapes undergo here is among the keys to the purity and the transparency to nuance of these wines. As usual at this address, even when one reaches the roughly 80% level of barrique (none, new,

Tenuta Di Trinoro, "Tenuta Di Trinoro" 2004 (Tuscany, Italy)‐ original price $2,880 ‐ OFFER PRICE $1,299 

“The 2004 Tenuta di Trinoro (83% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon) is an atypical wine for this estate owing to the high percentage of Merlot in the final blend. It is a very fine Tenuta 

di Trinoro, showing expressive aromatics along with plenty of super‐ripe jammy fruit, with an expansive, generous presence on the palate and fine tannins. My impression is that the 2004 won’t be one of the 

longest‐lived vintages of this wine as it doesn’t seem to have the stuffing of the very finest vintages. That said, in the nearly six months that have passed since I last tasted it, the wine has come together beautifully in 

the bottle. “Our plants were still recovering from the severe conditions of the preceding vintage,” explains Franchetti. “The plants were late to flower and we had trouble achieving our desired level of ripeness in many

The 2005 Alta Chardonnay comes from the Adrianna Vineyard at 4850 feet of elevation. It is 100% barrel‐fermented using natural yeasts and went through full malolactic fermentation. It was aged sur‐lie for 12 months in 60% new French oak. 

Light to medium gold in color, it has a distinguished aromatic profile of mineral, white flowers, toast, vanilla, apple, and poached pear. This is followed by a medium‐bodied, concentrated, layered Chardonnay with flavors of fig and citrus also
