    1. Place the trashcan against the far wall. Wad up scrap paper and aim. Make up giganticimaginary stakes for each shot, like "With this basket I will single-handedly halt globalwarming" or "If I make this, bunnies everywhere will be safe and happy forever."

    2. If you work in a lab with mice, cut one's head off and leave it on your advisor's desk a la "TheGodfather."

    3. Assemble differently shaped glassware and stage a soap opera. Mr. Eppendorf is in love with

Ms. Erlenmeyer, but Ms. Pipette is a lesbian who steals Ms. Erlenmeyer's heart. Make themfight. Then stage hot beaker-on-beaker action.4. Soda and Mentos Geyser - Watching a jet of foamy soda erupt from a bottle is not only fun, but

also hysterical and will impress everyone around you while hopefully not getting them (andyourself) too messy in the process. This also happens to be a really inexpensive homeexperiment, but you might want to invest in several bottles of soda and a bunch of rolls of mintsjust in case. Step one: Open the 2-liter pop bottle (note: diet soda seems to work better and isless sticky come clean-up time)Step two: Unroll the package of Mentos and prepare to dumpthe entire pack in at once. Fashioning a tube out of an empty toilet paper roll to just fit into thebottle mouth is very helpful.Step three: Drop the mints in and back up a few paces quickly!Step four: The geyser is quite impressive and the current measured record is 21 feet!
