his summer edition of ournewsletter extends untilSeptember, and so we haveincluded as much information as

we can to keep you aware of what ishappening in the life of CLC duringJuly and August. I am keen toencourage you to continue to pursueall that God has been saying to usover these recent months. SinceEaster we have set our hearts on afresh encounter with God the HolySpirit, which has led us to a renewedemphasis on God as our Father andthe amazing privilege of being Hischildren.

Knowing God as Father is acontinually unfolding revelation thatwill awaken a wonderful new under-standing of ourselves and theacceptance we have in Him. Thissummer I encourage you to live andpray this simple prayer: Father, showme who you really are and therefore,who I really am as a result.

I have discovered a growingconfidence in my relationship withGod as I have accepted the truth thatI am His son and an heir of HisKingdom.

I want to recommend three booksthat you may want to buy for yoursummer holiday reading. They arehelping me and I’m sure will inspireyou too.

Following our special Christmasofferings towards the work ofTownsend Gardens,we have recentlybeen contacted by Naomi McGilvery(representative of Bromford Support /Townsend Gardens Project) to informus that our ARK Food Bank has beenchosen as the focus of their charitiesvolunteer fund-raising day.

Members of their team spent a day inthe Tesco store at Spring Hill, bagpacking and sharing with members ofthe public about the work of the ARKProject. As a result of this initiative,Naomi along with a colleague deliveredseveral cars filled with donated pro-duce, along with £563 in cash that wascollected on the day.

Our food and clothing bank relies ongenerous donations of non-perishablefoods and clothing in order to enableour project to be a blessing to those inour community in crisis.

There are various items that are es-pecially welcome at the moment.These are:

� Sugar

� Tinned meat or fish

� Steamed puddings

� Toiletries

� Long life Milk

� Tinned potatoes or veg

You can leave them in the ARK binin the foyer, or drop them off to ouroffices Mon-Fri during office hours.

Please take a look at the recently updated information on the Missions Board.Also, be aware that we regularly insert new literature into the dispensers inthe foyer which include updates and prayer requests from the Missionsgroups that we support. There is currently information from Davy and EstherAllen who are new leaders of the Elim Project in Cambodia.

INTERNATIONAL SUNDAYSunday 14th July

International Sunday has become an annual celebration of the many nationsthat are represented here at CLC. We look forward to another day ofcontributions in song, testimony and dance, and an array of traditional andcolourful dress. Our evening service will also give us the opportunity to sharein some customary cuisine from near and far. If you would like to contributesome finger food for the evening, please speak to Odeline Carreon or MojiBalogun.

INTERNATIONAL BBQSaturday 31st August @ 2pmOur International congregation have scheduled a date to host a CLC BBQ tobe held at the BMS on Weoley Park Road. The afternoon will be lots of funand a time to meet new people. Everyone is invited! The event will bedependent upon dry weather.

CLC UNITEDSaturday 13th July 1pm @ Selly ParkPastor Emmanuel is looking to build a football team forthe day. Anyone aged 18 or over who would like to beinvolved please see Shaun Griffiths.

During the summer we like to beable to give our regular hardworking teachers a bit of a break.With that in mind, I would like toask if anyone would be willing togive up one or two Sundayservices to help out in this vitaland exciting ministry?   You can beinvolved as little or as much asyou want, from leading thesession to helping with drinks andcrafts.  The sessions will be veryinformal with crafts, games andstories.  If we are unable to find
