SUMMER SHOW 2020

This is an unusual year so this will be an unusual Summer Show. Please note these points and the instructions which follow

after the advertisement

• The schedule has been compiled bearing in mind that it is likely it will have to be a Virtual Show on our website but with the hope that we might be able to stage a small Pop-Up Show (for Sections 1-5) if restrictions ease between publishing this Schedule and the beginning of September. NB Sections 6-10 will be on the website even if the Pop-Up Show takes place.

• There will be no entry fees or financial prizes. Winners will be awarded Prize Cards which will delivered or posted.

• This Schedule will not be printed (except for members who do not have an email address).

• This is still an Open Show - non-members are welcome so please encourage your friends & families to look at it online.

• As usual entrants of 12yrs or under may add their age to their entry.

Colour coding in the Schedule Anything in BLACK relates to both Virtual & Pop-Up Shows

Anything in BLUE relates to the Virtual Show Anything in RED relates to the Pop-Up Show

No more than two entries per person in any class

Virtual Show • Except where stated, usual size restrictions will not apply

• Photographs may be taken at any time after the schedule is published

• Photos may be taken of entries in situ or cut, in a vase etc

• All photos to be under 10Mb and a maximum or 20Mb on one email (several emails can be sent)

• All photos must be clearly labelled with Entrant Name or Number and Class Number (no other details unless a class requires them)

• It would be helpful, though not essential, if you could apply to Sue for an Entrant Number before entries are emailed

• Entries to be submitted to suelee54@hotmail.com between Tuesday 1st Sept and 8.00pm Saturday 12th Sept

• Non-digital entries can be posted to Sue Lee, Glaston Grange, Wing Road, Glaston, Rutland LE15 9BY to arrive by 10th Sept

• Judging on Wednesday, 16th September - results as soon as possible afterwards

Pop-Up Show • Sections 1 to 5 only

• If this can go ahead you will be notified by 1st Sept giving details of venue, timing and all other arrangements

• It will be held during the week of 16th - 23rd Sept, probably outdoors and at short notice depending on the weather!

TROPHIES - No trophies will be awarded this year. If you have a trophy won in 2019, please keep it for the moment.

We will arrange collection in due course.

SECTION 1 Dahlias & Chrysanthemums Actual size will not be required for the Virtual Show

but use the Pop-Up measurements as a guide 1 One giant or large flowered dahlia (at least 220mm) 2 Two medium, small or miniature flowered dahlia - same or different

sizes (115-220mm) 3 Five pom-pom dahlias - any size 4 Chrysanthemums - three blooms (under 110mm) 5 Large chrysanthemum - one bloom (at least 110mm) 6 Spray Chrysanthemum - one stem

SECTION 2 Flowers

7 One spike of Gladiolus 8 One stem of Alstromeria 9 Hydrangea - a single flower head 10 Any variety of Daisy - single flower head or plant

Any variety of Daisy - 3 stems in a vase 11 Sunflower - single flower head or plant

Sunflower - single flower head or plant - max height 2ft 12 One stem or spray of any other flower not in the schedule

SECTION 3 Pot Plants

No size restrictions for Virtual Show Pots 12ins/30cm diameter maximum for Pop-Up Show

13 Pot plant foliage only (indoor or outdoor) 14 A patio pot of assorted flowers 15 A patio pot of one variety of plant

SECTION 4 Home-Grown Vegetables

16 Longest runner bean (pictured alongside ruler) 17 3 courgettes max 6 inches (pictured alongside ruler) 18 3 carrots - any type 19 3 onions- dressed any size 20 4 potatoes - any type 21 Collection 6 assorted tomatoes (2 each of 3 varieties) 22 Any other vegetable not in the schedule, including in a pot

28 Wildlife in the Garden - a photograph taken since March 23rd 29 A Bridge Near Me - a photograph taken since March 23rd

Entries may be digitally enhanced and may include a caption but must not exceed 10Mb

30 An Animal or Bird Portrait - painted in watercolour 31 A House - any medium (may include people)

The Show has gone on! And so have the Monthly Meetings
