SUMMER SESSIONS 2014The mission of the University of Rochester’s Summer Sessions is to develop and encourage intellectual growth in a community of summer scholars that promotes the University’s tra-dition of academic excellence. Summer students not only build their learning around their individual interests and passions but they also share ideas, interests, talents, and cultures, thereby celebrating their unique contributions and learning from each other.

Online summer course registration is convenient and is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. Summer housing is available both on and off-campus. Summer dining plans are a fresh, delicious, and convenient option for students. The Summer Sessions schedule features several sessions of varying lengths to accommodate busy summer students.

To complement your academic program, UR offers an array of cultural events. Experience and enjoy outstanding films, performances, art exhibits, and musical entertainment of-fered on the River Campus, at the Memorial Art Gallery, and the Eastman School Theatre. The Public Market, Rochester’s famous Park Avenue, shopping, dining, and the theatre and concert hall districts are a ten-minute bus ride away.

HOUSINGLiving in UR’s residence halls provides a safe, comfortable, and convenient place while you are attending classes,

completing internships, and or working for the College. Summer housing will be located in Anderson and Wilder

Towers. Students will be housed in 5-person suites. Each student will have their own bedroom and will share a

bathroom and suite lounge. There is a full kitchen on each floor. For further information on undergraduate sum-

PARKINGYou need a valid parking permit to park on the River Campus between 7:30 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday-Friday. Per-

mits are not required when you use any parking meter located on Wilson Boulevard. You may register for a park-

ing permit by visiting the Parking Office in Room 15, Fauver Stadium. Please have your license plate number, car

registration, and Student ID car with you. Prices vary based on the time of day, lot of choice, and frequency of

Fauver Stadium. More information on parking permits and hours of operation may be found at www.rochester.

CAMPUS LIFE

ID CARDSThe University provides student identification cards for all registered full- and part-time students. Official

University of Rochester ID cards are required for checking out materials from University libraries, for cashing

checks on campus, and for admission to various campus events and facilities. The card bears the student’s name,

status, campus color, library barcode, and photograph. New students may obtain their ID cards by going to the

customer service center on the first floor in Susan B. Anthony Halls. NOTE: To be eligible for a student ID card,

you must first register for your courses. There is no charge for the initial ID card; however, there is a replace-

ment fee for lost cards.

DININGDining on campus is a convenient and delicious option available seven days a week. Once you’ve registered for

courses, explore your options for dining on campus this summer! Take a coffee break at Starbucks, visit The Com-

mons or Danforth for lunch before class or take a walk to the House of Six Nations at the Med Center on weekends.

ACADEMIC ADVISINGThe College Center for Advising Services is located at 312 Lattimore Hall and is the single best place for undergrad-

uates to come with any academic related question or concern. Advisors are available for appointments. Students

who need to see an academic advisor for help in choosing their courses are encouraged to do so before the start of

for Excellence in Teaching and Learning’s Services. During the summer, CETL offers study skills counseling as

well as support for students with disabilities. These services are available on an individual appointment basis with

no charge to students.

CAREER SERVICESCurrently, registered students may use varied resources available in the Gwen M. Greene Career Center. Ques-
