LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF STAMPOREE
In their continuing effort to support LWR, the Kindred Sisters is asking all LOLLC
members and friends to help support this LWR project by collecting and saving can-
celled postage stamps. For your convenience and collection, a “Stamporee” box is in the
Welcome Center waiting for your used envelopes containing cancelled stamps. If tearing
off envelope, leave at least 1-1/2” around the stamp. Commemorative Stamps, State and
United States Stamps from Fishing and Hunting Licenses are most desirable.
REMEMBER: Cancelled Stamps are available … not only from each of us personally, but
from businesses and even GARAGE SALES.

KINDRED SISTERS NEWS
The Lord of Life Kindred Sisters June 1st meeting
was a traveling meeting. NINE of us gathered at
the church on the morning of June 1st. We trav-
eled together to visit our sister Alberta Otto. She
lives in the SPJST Assisted Living Home in Tay-
lor, Texas. Alberta is one of our lovely shut-ins of
our congregation. She was very delighted to see us and several of our members have
known her a long time. Nell Pennington, one of our Stephen Ministers, administered Holy
Communion to the group. Alberta had asked if we could bring communion to her when we
visited her. We were very thankful we could do that. Our devotion was about friends, and
we all agreed we have old and new friends that we give thanks for each day. Alberta was
thankful for the new friends she had met since moving to her new home and also for the
old friends who were visiting her that day.
After leaving Alberta Otto, the group went to the "Texan" restaurant in Hutto for lunch.
It was decided that the Kindred Sisters would contribute $100.00 to the Lutheran World
Relief to assist in sending quilts to the people in Haiti. We were thankful to return home
safely, and we are always grateful to God for our wonderful friends of "Kindred Sis-
ters". Join us next time.
There will not be a meeting in July. Stay tuned for our next adventure.

There is not book for suggested reading this month.
When I look back, I am so impressed again
with the life-giving power of literature.
If I were a young person today, trying to gain a sense of
myself in the world, I would do that again by reading,
just as I did when I was young.

THANK YOU~
The Memory Garden Committee would like to thank Dorothy Hamilton for the beautiful
birdbath that she donated for the memory garden. Please take a moment to go and view the gar-
den, which is located at the West end of the Library/Senior High building. It is so pretty with
the flowers in bloom and is a very quiet place to sit quietly and contemplate the beauty and
wonder of God.
Teach us to make the most of our time so that we might grow in wisdom.
(Psalm 90:12)
So some have asked what I really want to see happen here at Lord of Life.
The answer is very simple. I want all of us to grow in wisdom. You grow in
wisdom by investing in eternal things. Now, what do I mean by that. The first
eternal area is inside of you and it’s your character. So when you invest your
time in developing your character, you are making a difference not only now,
and that is one of the results, but you are also making a difference in

the future. And the other area is when you invest in people around you. So
when you invest in relationships, you are investing in eternity.
How do we learn to do that? We do what it takes to grow. To that end, we
are working to begin something called Growth Groups.
Here’s what I know about growth. Either we grow, or we die. We never
stay the same. The choice is yours and mine. So I want you and me to grow
together so that you might grow in wisdom.
We don’t just grow automatically. We have to put ourselves in a place
where we can grow. So that’s why we're starting Growth Groups. Growth
Groups are places where you can get together with other people. A place
where you can grow your character and where you can invest in the growth of
others. That is investing for eternity.
So we're experiencing growth, and I would like you to be a part of it. On
August 8, after worship, we'll have a special meeting to discuss Growth
Groups and how you will be able to participate. So please mark your calendars
for this important event.

Dear Pastor Dave and the members of Lord of Life,
Thank you all for the caring and support you have
given my parents and my family.
When my parents were homebound and were living at
the nursing home, many of you reached out with cards,
calls, visits, and bringing communion. This was a blessing
to my parents and to me. Faith and the church was the
center of my parents’ lives. They reached out and helped
at church when they were able. It was wonderful to have
so many people do the same for them.
When we lost my Dad and then my Mom, ya’ll were
there for my family and me. The bereavement committee
graciously brought sandwiches and desserts for out family
after my Dad’s funeral. When my Mom passed away, ya’ll
brought desserts and coffee to the gathering after her fu-
neral. Several of you helped setup, serve, and clean up so
that our family could eat and relax, and visit with our
family and friends. Thank you so much.
The Pastor and members of the church helped with the
funeral. Pastor Dave was an inspiring part of the service.
The church and Pastor Dave gave their time to compose
and print the beautiful bulletins for the funeral. Everyone
has been so caring and supportive to us. You all have
blessed us.
My parents loved Lord of Life. They were members at
the beginning of the church. They enjoyed being involved
with the church. I know they missed going to church
when they physically could not come.
Lord of Life has grown so much. My parents would be
proud that they were a part of the church. Thanks for
being an amazing example of God’s love.
May the church continue to grow and be a blessing.
May the members of the church be blessed for all of your
kindness.
Love, Sharron Krause
The time you’ve given,
the hearts you’ve touched,
the lives you’ve blessed—
these are true gifts from God.
Thank you for sharing His love.
Lord of Life family,
I wanted to say thank you to everyone for celebrating
my graduation with me. I enjoyed the presentation and
the delicious pizza party!
Love, Carrie Mauel
P.S. There’s still cake in my freezer :)
