Summer Reading Project Hello, upcoming fifth grade students! You will be required to complete a reading project on your own during the summer. It will be due the 2 nd day of school. You will begin your adventure by picking one of the books listed below to read during the summer and completing the following assignments: Books to choose from: Frindle by Andrew Clements The Summer of the Swans by Betsy Byars The Cay by Theodore Taylor Assignment Directions: 1. Pick and read one of the books listed above. 2. Questions: Answer the questions from this packet that goes along with your book. The answers to the questions should be numbered and written in complete sentences on notebook paper. 3. Presentation: Complete the four-page “Story Elements Presentation”. All answers should be in complete sentences with correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. 4. Folder: The answers to the questions and the Story Elements Presentation should be neatly organized and placed inside a three prong folder. The folder is due the 2 nd day of school!
